The 1 mins arent the only problem of installs.Hard drive management,installation problems etc. etc.Having evperienced these first hand I hate them.Your suggestion would probably be to get a bigger hardrive.Which means more $$$

Can I be a PC gamer and a console gamer?

I've been playing Video games since I was a nipper back in 1984 (I'm 30 now) and during that time I've owned computers and games consoles. From my humble beginnings on a C64 to a Xbox 360.

I like to experience gaming by getting the best of both worlds. Please don't paint all PC gamers with the same brush, as many of us own consoles too (although some will never admit it). I was a solid PC gamer from 1999 till 2004, but that doesn't mean I hated consoles, after all I owned them in the past. From 1997 to 1999 I had a Playstation, one of the best consoles I've ever owned at the time. In late 04 I bought an Xbox, good times, it still works, in fact I was playing on it yesterday evening.

Now I also built my own PC, and your right, you do need to upgrade every three years to keep up. This can be a pain and it burns a hole in your pocket. Sure COD 4 looks stuning in 1440x900 with graphics maxed out and 2x AA, but my 360 version still looks fantastic and I didn't need to spend £1000 to make it look that way.

Sure Crysis looks stunning, but I still like to play James Bond on my old original Xbox from time to time. Maybe its my age?

So I'm a PC gamer and console gamer. I have an Xbox, Xbox 360 aWii and a PSP. Are we a rare breed?

On the subject of Ignorance. stating his previous "Gaming PC" had a Nvidia 6200LE in it was just icing on the cake..... sounds like a case of walking into a PC shop looking at a PC and buying it... and assuming it would play games.

Thats pretty ignorant if anything is, and thats not even an insult... consumor ignorance is normal... hell I dont pretend im not ignorant to other product markets.... doesnt mean I dismiss them though.

Majority of the time thats said here the people saying it clearly display a lack of any REAL knowledge other than putting a disc in, installing and whining about it not being perfect.

Its more like

"Consoles are the only things I understand therefore its better" which goes against the SYSTEM WARS metacritic/paper based facts system in which case your opinion is a like a butthole.... and we know how that saying goes.

I don't like the idea of spending a crap-ton of money on the most up to date computer hardware and then having it become outdated in a short amount of time because Nvidias released a new graphics card etc.... Consoles are just more dependablePopadophalis
