I thought the Europe "Delay" Was Suppose to Kill Sony?!?!!?

Well known online retailer 'Play' has joined the likes of Amazon and Woolworths by declaring there is an exceptionally high demand for the PS3 at their store. Play is taking six times more pre-orders than it received for PlayStation 3 than Xbox 360 - and 15 times more than the Nintendo Wii. Even with the only option being a £525 bundle, seems that UK gamers are more than prepared to pay for Sony's next generation system.

That's according to head of games Gian Luzio, who told GamesIndustry.biz that PS3 is "the most pre-ordered console yet" for Play. The retailer is offering a GBP 524.99 bundle which includes first-party titles MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man and Genji.

Play also ran pre-order schemes for the Wii and Xbox 360, but some customers were left disappointed when they failed to receive their consoles on day one.

"We underestimated the demand and we were very disappointed that we could not fulfil all pre-orders due to stock shortages," admitted Luzio.

However, Play has pledged to deliver all pre-ordered PS3 units on launch day, with Luzio stating, "We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that customers will only be able to pre-order the system up until Play's allocation has been reached.

It's not just Play which is seeing healthy pre-orders for PS3, according to Sony. A spokesperson told GI.biz, "With an unprecedented day one shipment of 1 million machines into Europe and a software catalogue of over 30 titles available at launch, retailer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

I don't see how ps3 gamers have anything to say at this point.  If owning the system is enough satisfaction for you, than great, but I think we can all agree that the current game line up for the supposed "leader of the industry" is embarassing, especially following all the pre-launch hype.  I would suggest cows just keep quiet until they at least get a AAA game like the two lower priced competitors.  The system does you no good if you don't have anything good to play on it.

You have to remember, Xbox360 doesnt equal HD-DVD. Microsoft doesn't make those.

-are you trying to say there are great games on the ps3 right now?  The only good game is Resistance, and it's certainly not great, and not AAA material.  Other than that, it's a bunch of 360 knockoffs, and Genji (how did that score?).   Can you name any PS3 exclusives that are considered "great"?  Let me guess, you are going to point to a bunch of games in the future and say that those will be great....pretty lame.

And I find it funny that two of the games you mentioned on the ps3 (fear and oblivion) i've already boughten, beaten, and traded in for something more new.  I can't believe you are trying to own the lemmings with games that they've already played...that's pretty weak, even for ps3 fanboy who talks to much.  lol...I hope you enjoy the 360's left overs as much as millions of other gamers did about a half a year ago

-If you were smart, you'd read the system wars rules and realize that only Gamespot reviews count towards AAA rankings, therefore your whole "VF5 IS AAA" line is pretty incorrect since the game hasn't been reviewed on GS yet.  But i'm sure you'll make some kind of excuse.  Also keep in mind, VF5 will be on 360, so it's not like the game is ps3 exclusive.

Where is it's AAA?  I'm checking gamespot and I dont' see any.  8.6 is as close as the ps3 gets and let's face it...8.6 is not really all that close.

Cow pulling at straws now!!!  First they though America would engulf the PS3, NOT!!! Then they thought that their own home turf of Japan would engulf the PS3, NOT!!!  Now they are hoping the Europe engulf's the PS3....NOT!!!

Running out of contients and country's, soon they will be saying, "ya, you just wait until the PS3 launches in Iraq, then you'll see them flying off the shelves"

PS3 is by all indications is a FLOPPAGE!!!  Sure, it will survive and get 360 ports, but it has failed to live up or even close to expectations.
