If 2080ti's, which are more powerful than XsX or PS5, drop to $300 when the 3000 series hits stores, then you will be able to build a similar or more powerful PC at damn near the same price as the consoles especially on a sale. It's pretty much guaranteed that a $250-300 GPU will outperform the new consoles soon. GPU: $300 or less, CPU: $150 or so, Ram: $50, Mobo: $70 or less, PSU: $60, SSD: $50, Case: $50 or less, Keyboard and mouse: $50 or less. Hard drive is optional but $50. Can get a super cheap controller like the 360 if you want. Get cheap windows key. Total: roughly $800 compared to a potentially $599 console with free online that saves 60 dollars every year. It's time to drop the whole $2000 for a PC bullcrap, it has been proven to be incorrect. We haven't even heard the 3060's price or the new AMD cards which could be even better of price/performance. Imagine how much better or cheaper PC hardware will be over console within a year. It already is before launch.
Get access to millions of more games, more genres, cheaper games, 60fps (no more horrible 1996 30fps), the largest amount of players, early access titles, xbox and playstation games, thousands of possible mods to improve games, emulators to play thousands of classic games, free and best online, backwards compatibility to the 1980s, upgrade when you want, mouse is better for aim, use any controller you want, best VR experience if you want, better graphics and performance for older games or new, better multitasking, more freedom and so much more. It is objectively superior even if someone subjectively prefers console. Like it's not enough close to be honest and this is coming from someone who gamed on console for 20 years. The benefits are so great that I don't think I could ever be only console ever again.
It's a new gen so it's time to ask yourself: do you want to continue to live life as a lowly peasant or do you want to be a god? My brother learned to put together a PC within a day with a youtube video. If you have manged to survive long enough to be an adult, you can build or use a PC or get a friend to help put it together. It's not rocket science, it's more like child putting legos together. I believe you are smart enough and it is really worth it. 2020 and still 30fps? Yikes, nothing next gen about that. For people thinking about doing the switch, do yourself a favor and don't settle for less. You deserve the best
