2080 TI destroys X1X and PS4 Pro and also is more powerful than XSX and PS5, stop posting ignorant nonsense lies. It just makes you look really dumb.
Also curious do you actually believe the stupid BS you write? or are you just saying dumb stuff you know is not true to piss people off, such as myself?
7900XTs are supposed to beat out 2080TIs and cost under $400, so even $300 may be a hard sell for a 2080TI in a couple months.
2080ti is gonna be over 2 years old by the time AMD possibly even announces their competition, would be pretty sad if they couldnt beat it with a half the process node size, also rumours.
Most PC gamers I know are playing on mediocre hardware and some have been moving to mobile gaming. I actually think that's cool. They care more about the competitive nature of games like mmorpgs, mobas and older fps on PC.
Maybe the biggest game changer would rely on the East and that's steadily rising for PC gaming but they still mostly play the above games. I don't know much who actually care about new PC hardware other than online friends.
/anecdote.
@tormentos: if it isn't the 2080ti, a GPU will be $300 that can compete with XsX very soon. We all know it's going to happen soon whether it is the 2080 or not
Stop man building a PC that beat the PS5 will cost you more, hell an ssd as fast as the PS5 one will land you in $200 or close just the ssd.
There is no way,a GPU on its own serves for nothing, the PS5 is a complete system so is the XSX.
And then there is the fact that this suggested retail prices are never met,and are always for the bare bones models, soon after you will have 5 more models of the same card going over that suggest retail price even more.
There is a 99% chance that you will not pay $500 for a 3070 and will end paying more toward $600 than $500 and that is the first model, not the multiple flavors and OC models with more ram.
@Gatygun: the 3070 appears to be about 2080TI-ish; the 3060 will probably be about 2070Super-ish if I had to guess.
I also doubt the 3060 will be 300. The 3070 missed the 400 mark by a full $100 (and in reality will probably retail with board partners for 530+ -> I think we're looking at a $400 3060
Exactly.
I think even more as of now there are 2060 models that go almost for $500,the founders edition go for $474,so i don't see how the 3060 can go for $300 either.
This suggested prices are mostly make believe prices at least for the first 18 months or so,now you can get a cheap 2060 for like $330 which still is on over $300,i think this prices are mostly fake so that GPU makers save face,it matter little if Nvidia say the price will be $500 and you end paying $590 or $640.

I actually completely forgot about that.
I remember there were many times where msrp are "sales" prices and they're mostly $ 40-60 higher street price. I think it got even worse a few years back. Mining craze was it?
Consoles will cost way more due to scalpers in the first several weeks though until both Sony and ms flood the market enough.

MS revealed XSX hardware details with hotchips..... Your getting a 12 shader TFLOP gpu that can do 13 RT TFLOPS of performance..... Using the same Ray tracing metrics RTX 2080 does 10-11 Shader TFLOPS but 34 RT TFLOPS.... While RTX 2080ti does between 13-15 Shader TFLOPS and does like 37-38 RT TFLOPS. The RTX 3070 is suppose to do 20 Shader TFLOPS and 40 RT TFLOPS.
Needless to say that XSX and PS4 are going to be wimpy when it comes to RT effects even vs two year old med-high end Turing based gpus. XSX is going to have similar pixel pumping power of RTX 2080 but have RT performance of RTX 2060S or RTX 2070.
I can't imagine anyone beyond a limited group of people actually bothering to deal with pc gaming. It's such a hassle. Consoles are cheaper. Most people are probably going to buy a console.
What's the hassle? Even Walmart sells gaming PC's at every price range from $200 to over $7000. You plug it in and start buying games. That's the exact same hassle as buying a console at Walmart.

Yeah PC gaming has become a lot more streamlined and mainstream this generation. It has become a lot more common for me to find people in person that only/mainly play on PC or dabble in it a little at least compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation. The PC gaming experience has become more streamlined and the console experience being more PC like has made the transition from console to PC even easier. Updating drivers isn't a hassle anymore, it is something that you can do automatically in the background. Steam has Big Picture mode so you can navigate through it and your games with a controller. Steam has built in controller mapping software so now you can make your controller work on games that don't natively support it, heck Steam's controller mapping software allows you to use a Dualshock 4 controller better than it is used on its own console. Tweaking games isn't something you really have to do anymore as games can autodetect your hardware and adjust settings based on that and Nvidia Geforce Experience can also optimize the game for you.

Are the TFLOPs really that comparable because as far as I know AMD GPUs have had higher TFLOPs than some Nvidia cards yet the Nvidia cards would perform on par or faster than the the AMD GPUs with higher TFLOPs.
Well, it could be yet another nail in the Xbox coffin who's trying to sell an expensive console which will run Halo 3 looking games at 120fps, no one cares. For Sony and Nintendo it won't matter too much because they still have awesome exclusives.
If it was truly irrelevant you wouldn't even take the time to talk down about it.
Nah, i like to talk about irrelevant gaming platforms every once in a while, this is a forum after all. I even did it with the OnLive, Stadia, Steam Machines ... you know, all those platforms that don't really matter in the real world like NVidia and their GPUs.
Oof, desperate swings of disingenuous damage control.
Whatever makes you sleep at night, if you think that's doing some damage control ... sure, irrelevant gaming platforms fans need of the help they can get.
You can stop responding, everyone can see you're in distress. Imagine being so intimidated by a platform, just silly.
Yes, i'm intimidated by an irrelevant gaming platform ... i mean i'm not the one having to spend $1500 just to play the exact same game everyone else is playing, but sure like i said, all the help you can get guys ... i'll see you around again when someone tries to say PC gaming is somehow relevant in the real world.

Actually yes the RX 5700 series was around 20% slower vs Turing . So if assume that RDNA 2.0 is 25% better per clock, we can see RDNA 2.0's TFLOPS match or surpass Turing's efficiency.

Not sure what console fanboys think makes a gaming platform relevant, but PC gaming is the best gaming platform IMO for many reasons and is loved by many millions of people. It is irrelevant what console fanboys think as they are the worse and I would slap the shit out of them if they said that crap to my face, bunch of morons they all are. You don't have to spend $1500 to play the same games, you can spend $500 and play all the same games, now if you are talking about playing them at higher visual quality and performance, well then $1500 will get you way better than the consoles so I don't see the point here. Stop being a hater and just enjoy consoles if that's what you like. God console fanboys are so ignorant and annoying.
@latech84: @fedor:
To be fair guys, i'm just playing the SW meta game ... i'm have nothing against PC gaming, hell in fact if you ask me, as it stands now, i doubt anyone can fully justify an Xbox Series over any decent PC gaming rig with Game Pass.
I'm not a PC gamer and probably never will be, but i do see the appeal, still won't stop me from being trollish every once in a while for the sake of fun and conversation.

What if i buy the 2080ti for $300 and put it on top of my PS5 to increase its performance? I would be getting PS5 Pro performance in 2020 instead of waiting 4 years. So yea, before you criticize my Playstation, think what you're saying.

Never thought about that, I think I may try it. Sounds awesome!
@latech84: Oh no man I'm so scared of a keyboard warrior!
This is probably the most exercise you've gotten in months by getting worked up enough to make threats on a gaming forum lol. Good job proving my point about how insecure and fragile minded herms are. Overcompensating for your...shortcomings.
Assembling a computer with powerful hardware is great, but it costs a lot of money, and most PC get errors when installing heavy games, and I was always looking for a high-powered computer so I could play all kinds of games without Hank. Do the PC.
Price offers seem reasonable as long as a really powerful PC is delivered to customers.
it's all good, but the image you posted before about PC Gamers is still a made up lie and a joke, good trolling though. Do you really hate PC gaming that much? Or are you just trolling 100%? If you do I don't know why, can't you just like consoles without feeling the need to hate PC?
@latech84:
Consoles wouldnt be in trouble at all. Look, i would much rather play FPS multiplayer games on a console. PC has completely ruined those games for me due to like 80% of the pc gamers seem to toggle their little wallhacks, aimbots, and auto shots. Good luck with those games as every server has some Form of cheater doing one of those.

Hmm interesting, I've been rewatching bits of the RTX 30 series reveal and I noticed that Jensen takes shots at the Xbox Series X and AMD in comparing it's RT methods. The Series X machine learning capability is only 50% that of an RTX 2060 and it doesn't have dedicated hardware like Tensor cores for it. So the gap between an RTX 2080 and Series X GPU may be even bigger since it doesn't have the same level of ray tracing capabilities on top of not having hardware accelerated AI processing. So in any game that uses ray tracing and supports DLSS the RTX 2080 will be swimming laps around the Xbox Series X. This isn't even factoring in the RTX 3060 which will likely be RTX 2080 levels in rasterization and have better RT and DLSS performance due to using 2nd gen RT cores and 3rd gen Tensor cores.
At 15:55 Jensen makes the comparison.

Yep when I first watched the video I was like Nvidia is using MS/AMD's RT TFLOPS number metric now? Ok that's a stab lol, also it will help unify performance numbers between the brands/architectures. RDNA 2 in the XSX does not have any dedicated ML/AI hardware. They are using the low precision 4/8/16 FP bit compute to handle upscaling. It will never come close the versatility and horse power of the Tensor cores.
I think even big navi is going to have issues competing against Ampere's RT performance and tensor cores. The fact that an 1.8ghz 52CU RDNA is only able to do 13 RT TFLOPS, is going to limit RT effects in games. RDNA 2 72/80CU based gpu RT TFLOP performance range might only be 2-3x(26-39) higher than XSX, still not beating RTX 3070 RT performance. If it falls short of 2x of XSX RT performance it will be awful for AMD.
@Gatygun: the 3070 appears to be about 2080TI-ish; the 3060 will probably be about 2070Super-ish if I had to guess.

It will all depend on what AMD brings. If they bring another 5000 series dud series to the market then nvidia will drop the prices of the 3070 to 400 and release a 3060 for 300. And if they are competitive that 3060 will sit at 5% away from the 3070 to make it look like good value and drop the price straight with it to 300.
As for now we don't know what AMD is going to do, i hope they slam it out of the park with RDNA2 just to press nvidia prices. But who knows.
