If Lair is indeed a AA or even a AAA?

My question is more related to the game reviewers. What happens if a game they "reviewed" by playing an incomplete game is well received by other reviews/gamers very well?Can the developers (Factor 5 in this case, is that right?) do anything about them?

With all the bad publicity they are getting due to the earlyreviews, the game developers might get a financial blow.If the game is indeed as bad as say, "Hours of Victory", then the devs deserved it, but otherwise every dev should be given a chance.

And of course this goes for any game on any platform. I think as a community of gamers, we can enjoy arguing each other, hyping and bashing,but should there be a moral limit? What do you think?

Concerning EGM, they graded it down because it was Rouge squadren-fan modded.....

Wouldn't Mass Effect get graded down because it's just KOTOR with a few new features?

From what we have seen, Mass Effect is a huge amount more then that.. KOTOR was also based off a modified version of the DnD ruleset (NWN used)... Mass Effect has nothing of the sort..

Unfortunatly Factor 5 can't do anytihng about EMG's review which is sad since EMG's frame-rate and control complaints were already fixed at the time of the review according to Factor 5 and PLAY ... choasgod

..... How is this not the companies fault.. They are the ones that wanted to release a non retail version of the game early to increase hype.

When they said I was queer for building my tree house I told them Lair is garbage and they left me alone.

Honestly, cows just need to give up on this game, move on, and just accept ownage. It should be clear by now that the game is just pure suckage, what more needs to be said?

EGM is normally a very hard mag to impress. I tend to mostly disagree with them, such as their hate for Killzone Liberation for example. I respect their opinion and they don't service fanboys which is always a good thing.

Their does tend to be some smoke with this title and where theirs smoke..well you know the rest. Its constant delays, early mixed reviews, don't speak much for how the final product will turn out. Lair just won't be the "gears" hit the PS3 needs BUT it can still be a good genre game for genre fans.

I could really care less about a bunch of so called "expert" opinions, as I know that I personally will like this game, and plan to buy it, and enjoy it even if it scores a 1.0 on Gamespot. As I prefer to judge for myself what games I want to play, instead of letting Gamespot and hordes of raving forumite fanboys judge for me.

I have known since it was announced that I will personally dig this game, so I am not about to let someone else's sour opinion of it scare me away, lol. It will not be the first time that I completely disagreed with the "experts", I can tell you that much. If I had a nickel for ever time I disagreed with the critics I could probably retire.

Because the game has intrigued me since it was first announced, and I have been waiting quite awhile to play it, thats why, lol. On top of that, I really do not think that Factor 5 will release a "broken" game. And as I said before, it would not be the first time that I disagreed completely with the "experts." Hell, if I had always based my decisions based on what the critics say, I would have missed out on ALOT of great games. Same can be said for books, music, and movies as well.

Pardon me? Please do not just blindly assume that everyone will think that the game is "sucky" just because you and a few review sites think so. I am not going to have to "force" myself into liking it just because someone else says that it sucks either, lol.

The fact is you are not sure if it sucks or not, as you have not even played the game. But, even if you had played it through, and came to the conclusion that the game sucked, you would still be in the wrong in trying to act as if your opinion of it was the standard to judge it by.

Does anyone realize that they release review builds of a game to the press? It's supposed to represent the final product as if it were the retail version.

If, in fact, they're going to change it significantly, then yes, it's the fault of the devs/publisher to hand it out before it's ready.
