If nextbox is weaker than PS4 is it game over for MS?

If the rumours are true and the Nextbox is weaker than PS4 will this technological inferiority spell disaster for the Nextbox? will most gamers flock to the PS4 because it's more powerful? Or will few people care?CwlHeddwyn

Aslong as 80% of multipalts are on the next xbox then microsoft are fine. The majority who are the normal people they dont know about specs etc. So they wont care unless they cant play games like fifa and cod on the next box.

Yes they are doomed unless they go back and re-design the hardware to accommodate more powerful hardware. If they do this, I estimate the next Xbox will be out mid-2015. They can't afford this, as Sony is forcing their hand, and they will be unable to keep up. Sony is very smart when you think about it.Sooshy

Anyone that support paying to play is the cancer... Or paying to use a serivce you are already paying for. So are the people that are supporting these stupid motion games. Which seem to finally be dying down now because they have no longevity.

Rather have a powerful system focused on mainstream games... Rather then a under powered hunk of crap that follows fads and makes you pay for free things or pay again.

That's not the newest rumors I am reading. ;)

Also, it's not just about upfront power. It's about the underlying network and peripheral superiority. MS could be ticking all these boxes for all we know.

• More power
• Better Network
• Technologically better motion, voice, etc peripheral (Kinect 2.0)

Oh, and MS could also probably sell the hardware cheaper up front (this is before any thought of a subsidized price with XBL or cable providers).

It's been game over for micro$uck since 2004.

....... Your a moron.. Steel Batallion? A game that was hyped to high heaven in which they used the Kinect? Or games like Lair that were hyped before it's release as a flagship PS3 title? Wii also had quit ea few games before release hyped.. THey are not big games any more due to this failure, but that didn't stop the huge amount of hype before it..  These companies are businesses and they go where the money goes, it is no suprise they would be trying to add in this strategy if it were successful.

Super Nintendo was not the most powerful console of gen 4. See Neo Geo, CD-I, etc.

Slight Hardware Advantage on PS4 wont make the biggest difference, but could mean a few better 3rd party games. I think PS4 and Next Xbox will be in the same ballpark, not much of a difference. I am sure both have easy devlop hardware this time around.
