Depends. Does Nintendo quit hardware production or does it quit altogether? If Nintendo went the route of Sega I would probably pick up another platform but if it quit altogether that would probably be it for me. There are not enough games for other consoles that interest me to purchase one.

Nintendo is my favorite gaming company, but to quit gaming forever because of the disappearance of one company is a bit extreme.

Of course most people will say no. They are perfectly content being spoon fed the homogenized garbage that most developers spew out these days. These same people are the first to spit on Nintendo for milking their franchises, when they take the most risks out of any company.

I would be upset, but not because I am a Nintendo fan.. I play the rare Nintendo game on the occasion.. But quite frankly your a moron if you want any company to go down.. The market is massive, there is room for all of them and more.. And having huge companies go down is BAD because it stops variety and competition..

Of course not,I barely care about what nintendo makes as it is.Arach666

Same for me. They are a great developer but not that important. The past two LoZ games have been pretty meh. Mario is still OK and with Sony copying SSBs, I can get my fix from that game. It would suck, but I would be much more crushed if Blizzard or Valve left.

No, but some of the soul of gaming would be gone to me. I grew up with Nintendo, was my first console, and they made the first games I really cared for. SO there would be this sort of sad void left.

Looks at Wii and 3DS sales.....Looks at AtariKidX's post.......Laughs at how stupid a post it is. Yeah, so finished they have the top Console and Handheld in the world. (No fanboy, a phone does not count)

Nintendo isn't God. You'd have to be stupid to stop gaming just because one company goes out.

It's not that, it's that Nintendo helped pull NA out of the video game crash and has been a huge part of some many people's childhoods. When you are older and a company that was apart of your childhood may go under, you will feel at least a little sad about it. (FYI, I don't own any Nintendo consoles)

Yeah but theres the other side where they like to focus on profits and sales as opposed to raising the bar of gaming and using old hardware as a means to save costs. Are they helping gaming by casualising it? If it were'nt for games like Batman, Skyrim, Halo, Demons Souls etc.. this gen would be sad indeed.
A lot of people have grown beyond Nintendo.

nawh not really, but since nintendo didnt take console gaming serious this gen, i was force to go to PC gaming. sony and microsoft consoles wasn't good enough to keep my intrest this gen, especially when there was a better experience in pc gaming. playing nintendo games in SD was too harsh for me, even if i liked the games for it.

Never meant they are still what they used to be, this Nintendo is a far cry from it's 80's and early to mid 90's glory days. I was just saying some people have grown attached to them from their past success and not their current. Casual gaming is not Nintendo's fault, almost everybody is doing that and Nintendo is just going the way they always have been, is there really any difference between the N now and 15 to 20 years ago? Not much, and maybe that is half the problem. I would say the Wii change gaming by pushing motion sensing forward, which isn't always a bad thing and the Wii U could do the same. Nintendo seems to be more about new ways to interact with games over raw power. That is not really always a bad thing, gaming would get boring without new ways to interact with the games we play.

There would be far fewer games for me to play that are interesting or good. It would be a big dent in game design quality and for ploy-less game development in the industry.

No. I'd rejoice! When you say quit gaming I assume you mean go third party? If they went third party I'd rejoice since I'd be able to play the good Nintendo games on consoles that don't suck balls. If they quit gaming altogether? Meh, wouldn't really care much. The only thing I'd miss is Mario platformers, but I'd get over that pretty quickly.

Implying Nintendo's games would stay good (in a critical sense) if they were third party *see SEGA/Sonic Team*.

To be fair just because Sega aren't what they once were doesn't mean they aren't good at all. Sega does make a lot of good games even today. They actually don't get enough credit. Obviously they were better before they went third party, but they're still a publisher with a good amount of quality games.

Of course not. I don't really care about Nintendo consoles and only play a few games per generation since they've had the worst console library since the N64. I would miss them in the handheld market abit but alot of their 3rd Party support would most likely go to Sony's handheld so no big loss.

LOL, when was the last time that nintendo appealed to gamers!??! It's very clear who the target audience is with their wii!!! So basically for me the answer is NO!
