That is an amazing piece of shit!

So true, but most lemrats still think Xbox Live Gold is amazing.

I see this talk of MS "taking over the living room". That's just pie in the sky nonsense, and my gut tells me they really think they can extract alot of revenues and fees out of this business. It's a simple translation to $$$. They are not going to earn substantial profits off of a $99 box unless there are heavy fees attached. Roku is a small company, so MS could literally take over 100% of Roku market share and the hardware sales wouldn't even make a dent for a company the size of MS. Microsoft NEEDS subscription fees on top of hardware sales or it simply isn't a viable business for thier shareholders.
MS doesn't have CONTENT. So what exactly are they selling us here? If they drop the paywall that would certainly be a good thing for customers, but then it also means MS dropped their ambitions down a notch. There won't be enough money in it for them to please shareholders long term, and certainly it won't even put a dent in their overall business (which is likely to be a declining business with the collapse of the PC market and Windows). So my take is this whole process will end up being Zune 2.0 - and in 5 years time MS will be in some major trouble (not unlike what Sony has gone through).

It's been Sony's dream to make the all-in-one entertainment center console since the psone. That dream has been a failure. The ps2 did benefit from the DVD playback, and the ps3 benefits from bluray playback, but most people prefer to have dedicated devices for those functions, both for simplicity's sake and to extend the lifetime of the console.
The wiiu has proved that nobody wants the all-in-one online media center. The wii u has that TVii thing that integrates hulu, netflix, web surfing, gaming, and all with that miiverse stuff. Nintendo is the only all-in-one device on the market and nobody cares. You can't say that it's because the wiiu sucks or an anti-nintendo sentiment either. BS. It's obvious that the all-in-one dream was a way for marketing executives to pat themselves on the back. It doesn't reflect market demand. It's side note to any device and nothing exciting.
With the expansion of smart TVs and tablet integration, it will be even less than a side note.
$150 now and your soul later.
Only people who like debt, getting ripped off or just don't care, will take the bait.
Your going to have to pay that fee for years and if you cancel early they will own you.
I for one will not buy a subscription based console.
Yep, they probably already won cable TV (I guess) but the gaming department? well on my eyes they are still far behind if they can't give noting else outside Forza, Halo, Gears.
[QUOTE="NFJSupreme"][QUOTE="wazzap76"] I'm not denying anything I'm saying you have zero proof the mini will play games locally and not through the cloud.wazzap76
i don't know if you are trolling or just slow. The vgleaks article clearly explains that you will be able to play 360 games on your durango when it is connected to the xbox mini. It's not a difficult concept to understand.
So it only plays games when connected to a 720? Making it a cable box when by itself? I really don't see it selling like hot cakes when almost everyone in the market if or a new Xbox already owns a 360. So to make it clear it's a cable/gimped 360 box that only uses half of its features until you connect it to their more expensive device. Sounds unappealing. A side note. No hard drive? Are they going to sell a separate DVr for it? This device keeps sounding worse and worse.^ Yep, that is about the same thing I posted and all I got back in responce was blah blah blah. lol
[QUOTE="Miketheman83"][QUOTE="clyde46"] I don't want it period. My SKY box does its just fine. One function, to receive satellite TV and it does it perfectly. I want a console that plays games, why can't I have that? Why do I have to buy this "media box"?Shielder7You don't have to buy the add on then. It's optional. The 720 is the gaming console. I fail to see how this is a good thing and not just a cash grab. Why would I want this if I already had a 360?
yep
So if the 720 is the gaming console why am I buying the $99 model? You're not. So what's the point in it?[QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"][QUOTE="Miketheman83"] You don't have to buy the add on then. It's optional. The 720 is the gaming console.RR360DD
Wow so much butthurt over a little £99 box. Calm down cows, its just a rumourRR360DDhey, when someone says "they already won next gen" then they're going to get arguments saying otherwise. If you didn't think so then why come to this thread? Just to whine at the arguers? Pretty sad imo
