Even if some games are exluded, the power will definatly be more than enough to run more than 2000 PC games (or more)

These systems will be rather powerfull, they rival current consoles

Tablets will likely struggle to run many modern games.

Show me some specs please.

I think i can safely say that a PsP Vita is less fragile and sinse I already have a good laptop i don't need to spend extra money on gadgets. Not only that but the PsP vita is a system of it's own why would i want to buy a pc wanna be when I already have a good laptop ? and no I don't want to have a portable Pc to do what i already do on a pc somewhere else.

And yea i agree with some people you are a little dumb OP take me for example my laptop over heats i need an extra fan to play games on it how could you even expect a tablet to run things ? even photoshop takes considerate amount of computer energy ( depends on what you're doing on it ) and that tablet would just sh!t on itself. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on some nice clothes or buy a round of beer for your buddies. More tablets are just not needed.

One advantage of the Fiona's design is that you can store a substantial battery in the grips on the side. My guess is that the machine if it IS using an i7 like the links says, it's probably using something like a Radeon 6630, which is a really low clocked 480 SP Turks GPU. However, Trinity is pretty much right at the same level as a DDR3 VRAM equipped Turks GPU.

Putting Vita in your pocket means you can put a PC tower in there as well? What ridiculous hyperbole. Tablets are larger than the Vita, and having to cart around a keyboard as well means portability isn't all that great. Let alone setting it up on the go.

There are combat keyboards that take very little space

You can definatly pack tablet+KB in a small bag, just a bit bigger than the bag i would carry Vita around with

Compact or not, it's still an inconvenience. You're obviously not going to lug around a full desktop keyboard... I thought that was implied :?

No, you likely couldn't. Unless your definition of "a bit bigger" is drastically different from everybody elses.

Another issue is price point. Loosing has shown Razer's concept for a gaming tablet, but the price is estimated at around $800-900. The Vita is priced at $250 or so.

[QUOTE="PC_Otter"]Because the battery life and relative mobility of Sandy Bridge is quite poor for tablets. It's TDW and power usage is too high for true mobile computing in the same sense as the iPad or other ARM based tablets. Ivy Bridge and Trinity at their minimalist, are going for 17W TDW which is incredibly low given their performance, but still insane for a tablet. A practical tablet doesn't have the battery capacity for such operation. An Asus Transformer ****machine could work, but off the dock, you're looking at 2 hours of battery life at best, and with the dock, you're carrying extra bulk that you would otherwise carry with a typical, less expensive and probably more powerful laptop. My first laptop was a convertible notebook, in only had a single core 1.6 GHz Pentium M, 512 MB DDR, and a 60 GB HDD and it barely managed 2.5 hours. The screen was great though, it used what is probably the same magnetic resonance technology Wacom Tablets use, so it was pressure sensitive and extremely accurate. The computer itself was really slow however, especially with Intel Xtreme Graphics 2 *bleh* The first AMD Bobcats for the iPad ****tablets was a 9W TDW part, the latest, the Z-01 is about as powerful (but without turbo capability) and sits at 5.9W.

Yeah, the balance between portability and performance is a tricky one, but there must be some demand for the powerful (CPU-wise, anyway) Asus Eee Slate EP121, Samsung Series 7 Slate, and of course, all those Motion Computing and Fujitsu Stylistic models. Still, I'm hoping that Android gives Windows some competition in the pen tablet market specifically because a Galaxy Note 10.1 is much lighter and lasts longer while still being powerful enough for basic tasks and packing the same Wacom Penabled digitizer. I must admit that my HP 2730p surprised me once I clipped a slice battery on, though. Normally, it gets around 3:30 to 4:00 of battery life, but that increases to 8:00 or 9:00 combined with a slice battery. It does add an extra pound of weight, but it doesn't bother me that much. On the other hand, people are bothered enough by typical convertible Tablet PC weight without any extended/secondary batteries, and the 2730p's one of the lighter ones (3.7 lbs.)! Specs-wise, it's packing a Core 2 Duo SL9400 (1.86 GHz) and a GMA 4500MHD (*sigh*), but the X-18M SSD might contribute more to those battery life figures than I think. Also, while I've seen at least one Windows tablet with a more modern AMD CPU, it lacked the Wacom Penabled digitizer I find absolutely crucial to such systems, and I couldn't confirm what kind of LCD was used, either. (AFFS+ is the best, but usually a premium outdoor-viewable option. IPS and PVA are more common and not necessarily bad, just not AFFS+ good with outdoor viewability.) If only we could get one of those new AMD Bobcat CPUs for long battery life, low TDP, and reasonable performance (especially on the graphics side of things), dual digitizers (Wacom + capacitive), and guaranteed AFFS+ panels (maybe even the 13.3" ones!) in one package...too bad you can't custom-build these things like desktops.

How come you made no mention of Core i5/i7 in an x86 Windows tablet, as I usually see most of them based on? Even before that, Core 2 Duo and Pentium M were pretty prevalent in Tablet PCs as well. I don't expect to see that change much. That said, I do wish more of the business-class ones would use the newer AMD CPUs, only because the integrated graphics suck a lot less and Intel really needs the competition.NamelessPlayer

Intel Ivybridge ULV or AMD Trinity ULV will change the IGP issue in the tablet/ultrabook form factors.

Intel doesn't have direct competition in ULV "fat" CGPU segment.

This will change with the arrival of AMD Trinity ULV. AMD plans to displaced Bobcat based APU with Trinity ULV APU.

Intel Ivybridge's IGP just rivals AMD Llano APU's IGP. To maintain the IGP gap, AMD needs to release Trinity APU.

I don't think we are quite at the point where mobile Win8 platforms will push out dedicated gaming handhelds, maybe in a few years.

personally i see it this way

Android Phones (iphone etc) = Cellphones (calls, texting)

Tablets = On the go 'office' work duties

3DS / PSV - gaming on the go..

Heyyyyyyyyy there you go. Perfect. I have a tablet, laptop, and a galaxy s2. Any gaming that needs to be done is done on either the console or laptop. Games for phones and tablets are really just time killers imo.
