[QUOTE="Slimmin360"][QUOTE="prsman"] You have 2 children, so that's puts your age at what, 25-45? Hmm... PC's came out in the late 70's. So... you were born between 1965 to 1985. Now I'm guessing that you were born in the 80's or 90's , otherwise you wouldn't be raised in an Apple family. So either you decided to skip college, knocked up a chick in High School, or you are lying.-ArchAngeL-777-
Your close i'm 41 years old and the first computer i used was actually a Commodore Pet when i was in grade school, once i began doing well on it, word got back to my parents, who then bought me a Commodore Vic 20 and then a Commodore 64, and after that i went on to use PC's until my late 20's.
However it was my own teacher who instructed me on that Commodore Pet that told me PC's are junk, the real computers were the Apple II's and the new Macintosh, he even invited me to his house to show me since i was one of the few that took such an interest in computers.
Now back then the Macintosh was the first computer to use a graphic user interface or G.U.I. and when i saw it for the first time i knew they were the company far ahead of anyone else, my teacher was right, and from that day on i was sold on MAC's.
However due to the low wages i made back then i was forced to use PC's until the mid 90's when i finally was able to buy my first MAC and it was only the first of many i'm happy to say, and whether anyone in here believes it or not, i always had one issue or another with my PC's, nothing that ever crashed it completely but enough to need constant maintenance and a constant annoyance.
Not one of my MAC's ever gave me a problem, not once, nor' do they require any maintenance, just the occasional update, thats always the way they've been, you just turn them on and they work.
Later various documentaries and movies were made telling the story of Microsoft and Apple, but the two that really stick out are " Welcome to Macintosh " and the " Pirates of Silicon Valley " both basically show the same history of the Apple and Microsoft and i think even further prove just how little Microsoft knew but just how much they stole.
Apple bought the graphic user interface from Xerox and adapted it for their Macintosh computer, Bill Gates later convinced Steve Jobs and others at Apple that he wanted to develop for the Macintosh and had some Macintosh prototypes sent to their seattle offices where they proceeded to pirate the software off the Macintosh turn it upside down and called it Windows.
Thus beating Apple to the world wide market by 6 months and stealing one of the biggest fortunes in history.....but to this day they still can't get it 100% and Apple has gone far beyond 110% and proceeded to change the world with even more hardware, IPOD, IPHONE, IPAD, IMAC.
These are historical facts not opinions, so yeah i love Apple because they continue to create and innovate whereas Microsoft continues to steal and copy, they didn't even create D.O.S. they bought if off a guy in New Mexico for $50,000, and then proceeded to steal the G.U.I. from Apple.
At least when Apple bought it from Xerox they improved upon it and made it there own and then reinvented it again with OS-X, while Microsoft continues to copy Apple with each version of Windows, now there trying to steal the MP3 market with Zune, and the phone market with there new Kin phone.
So it's never ending Piracy with Microsoft they steal while Apple creates, which is fine i know the saying " a good artist creates, a better artist steals ", hey thats ok thats the way of big business, but we'll always have better stuff with Apple.
Im not an apple fan, but I totally agree with this assessment of Microsoft. Microsoft sees someone else having success, tries to imitate that success, fails, and then buys or steals their way in anyway. If the PC gaming catalog wasnt as massive compared to Mac, I wouldnt own a PC. As for the IPad...thats a awful lot of money for what amounts to substandard gaming compared to PC or consoles. Seriously, the App store games in some ways can compare to DS or PSP, but are more arcade-like than fully fleshed out gaming experiences. They are more like the type of games you find on PSN and XBL marketplace. They dont come close to the full up console or PC gaming. I have an iPhone, and have only found a couple of games I really got into. As much as I hate to suggest a PC, that is where I would put my $700 as far as gaming is concerned. Steam and direct2drive run awesome gaming sales...$5 or so per game. Otherwise, just save that $700 and slowly use it to buy $700 worth of games over time...that could last you years unless your buying a game or two a month. Thank you, this was all i was looking for in the near 10 full pages of replies was an unbiased and honest opinion towards Apple products and my choosing IPAD, and i am well aware that the game quality of the app store games being merely on par with DS and PSP titles and i'm fine with that. I'm also getting the IPAD for it's many other features too, such as the upcoming video chat feature with the next gen IPAD because i do have relatives out of state and them getting an IPOD touch 4g or an IPAD 4g to communicate with is still cheaper then buying a MAC laptop or desktop and using Ichat.
