Every CoD game after modern warfare to 6.5shakmaster13Can't say I agree considering CoD MW1 was my first and last CoD title I'll ever play. BTW awesome avatar picture :D
Suikoden 1 = from a 6 or what ever it got to a 9 or 9.5/10
Fallout1/2 = 10/10 or 9.5
Elemental = 8 or 9/10, I love this game
Ratchet and Clank = First one on on the ps3 was awesome, but got a 7? 7.5? was much ebtter then that imo
Lost Odyssey = 7.5? This is one of this gens best rpgs (the witcher is better) and a 9/10 imo
Deus Ex = Higher score it deserved
Risen = Deserved 8.5 or 9 imo on pc
Assassins Creed 1/2 = 4/10

I think what this guy is trying to say is that SMG2 is really just a "1.5"
I hope not. the sequel is far more original, imaginative, and brilliant than the first. It clearly showed that the development team were playing it very safe witht the first mario galaxy then let loose in the second and it payed off big time!
I truely feel that the second game was far more varied and original in its concepts:
-Yoshi added a varied way to play (Tongue pointer controls)
-Spin drill allowed you to drill through planets to reach higher areas
-using mario's spin attack to switch panels to jump on
-Cloud Mario allowing you to create your own platforms
-Gravity effects that spin in a never ending circle in Tall Trunk Galaxy
-Running up walls at super speed in high tail falls
-navigating a world that's falling apart from sawblades
-The ever repeating walkways that vanish at the edges in Haunty Halls
-Blocks that appear and disappear to the beat of the music in Beatblock galaxy
-Gravity that shifts acording to your ground pounding in flipsville galaxy,
-creating pathways for chomps in chompworks (more puzzle oriented than mario usually is)
-navigating a whole level that only appears within the radius of Yoshi's light in sweet mystery galaxy
-Navigating a bobomb that appears below the glass cylander your on to break the glass below you in Space Storm
-The reverse slide in which you must dodge cylindrical enemies from behind you in Slipsand
-the sand bird that breaks and reappears moments later in slipsand galaxy
-The fire balls that melt momentary lava circles in the ice quickly followed by icicles that create momentary ice patches in the lave in shiver burn galaxy
-The constantly folding world of Boo moon galaxy
-a flat surface that pops up into something you can platform on and wall jump with in boo moon galaxy
-Navigating tiny planetoids as large lava monsters constantly pass through them in Melty Monster Galaxy
-The whole rolling sequence in Melty Monster Galaxy
-The large spiinning platforms and wheels with only certain points to be safe as well as be able to climb up on in reverse in clockwork ruins
-A level where you can only see your suroundings when the beat allows light to flash in Flash Back Galaxy
-controlling walljumpable ledges with your spin attack in Flip-Out galaxy
-and much more!
The first Mario galaxy didn't even have a third of the originality that the second has
Anywho, If I were to change a score it would be the Legend of Zelda the Phantom Hourglass from a 9.0 to a 7.5. It had superb DS functionality in touch controls, but the adventure wasn't very entertaining and the world was by far the smallest zelda world to date which you had to explore with a boat on rails... It was just annoying especially with the Temple of the Ocean king. The series needed a change, but I much prefered the Majora's Mask change than this

How in the heck is SMG original? I've never played any of them yet I'll admit *flame shield*, but the only thing I wouldn't call original about it is Mario in Space. That was already in Super Mario Land 2.[QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"]

That was already in Super Mario Land 2.All you have to do is play about 10-20 minutes into either game for your answer. The setting has nothing to do with it. You simply will not find level design so brilliant in any other games out their. Almost every level in SMG2 reveals an original idea. You could seriously make entire games based off of an idea that Nintendo may have only used once or twice in SMG/SMG2.
CoD 4 was totally deserving of it's score.Every COD after COD2
Avian005
- COD3 6.5
- COD4 8.0
- COD: WaW 7.5
- COD: MW2 6.0
- COD: Black Ops 7.5

I know setting doesn't have anything to do with it, but I brought Super Mario Land 2 up because many claim "Mario in Space" hasn't been done before, when it clearly has.Silent Hill 2 - 9.0Konamic
Oh yeah, I almost forgot one of the worst RPGs of this gen. Final Fantasy XIII deserved nothing higher than a 6.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - 8.5 (Story was way more confusing than the simple MGS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 - 9.5 (Story alone should make it a 9, cant believe its the lowest rated MGS game)
Grand Theft Auto IV - 9.5 (Game is amazing but has its faults. A 9.5 also would have brought the hate down)
Lost Odyssey - 9(Greatest JRPG this gen deserves more than a 7.5)
Assassin's Creed- 7(Second one is very well done but first one is completely average)
And most importantly....
Super Smash Bros brawl - 8 (A replica of a game made 8 years prior has no business getting a 9.5.)

None...because I couldnt care less what some pencil-pusher amateur journalist on GS thinks about a game I like.

Easy to criticize the work of others (calling them amateur) from your home behind your anonymity without a single professional credential, isn't it? ;)
In any case the score I would change (not that I'm saying the reviewer was 'amateur' ) is Too Human to a 7.0. True the game had its control issues, and the level scaling past 30 was unbalanced, but damn was that game FUN. The frenetic pace of the action when ping ponging between hordes of enemies was insane. And I just kept going back for more, with the fantastic array of skill tree building and abundant loot collecting that offered so much character customization. far from perfect but still better than a 5.5.
Of course i'm anonymous, you think i'm stupid enough to mouth off to some wormy game reviewer's face in real life? I'd be put in a hospital obviously
GS reviewers arent exactly renowned journalists that have articles featured in Time Magazine and had to spend a few years in some prestige college to get where they are. They offer their opinion about video games.most people with basic writing skills and a "opinion" could do what they do.I've seen user reviews on here that were more insightful and better written than "professional reviews"
and as for my lack of professional credentials?... what makes you so certain I didnt major in writing or journalism? it's nice to assume things. Afterall,I am being anonymous,so again how would you know?
but to answer your question...No,I'm more of an Artist and by Artist,I mean a "Real Artist" as in: someone who expresses themselves in a abstract way through Painting,Drawing,Photography,Music........and not someone who just edits pictures together of Scarlett Johansson or some Samus Aran Cosplayer through Adobe ;)
I was waiting until Gamespot posted the GT5 review to say, "GT5!" :P

Seriously though, I'd change Legend of Dragoon, that game is cIassic to me :).
you can say it now, but wow an 8. and that gt5 thread just blew up when the review came out. there's already gifs and sigs about "the 8". lol i say we refer to gt5 as "The 8"I was waiting until Gamespot posted the GT5 review to say, "GT5!" :P

Yeah,I don´t know about that... :P You know I'm fiercer about Mass Effect than I am about Zelda, right?[QUOTE="charizard1605"]Mass Effect 2. 9.5 AT LEAST.Arach666
[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Arach666"] Yeah,I don´t know about that... :PYou know I'm fiercer about Mass Effect than I am about Zelda, right? Meh,I can handle that and you know it! :o Lies, I tell you! :xArach666
But it has Identity Crisis!Bump Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction from a 7.5 to an 8.5. The review was just pathetic, to say the least.
