I already game on PC but my PC isn't that powerful I can play the Witcher at low/medium settings. So as long as I can play them I will still game on PC.
Despite my username I do have a Steam account and play on a (****) computer. I'd play more with an amazing rig but not more than on consoles.
I will take that super comfy chair though, that's my only thing with gaming on my desktop, after about 2 hours, my rear and back start hurting with whats supposed to be a comfy chair. It starts off not to bad, but just gets numbing after a bit lol.
yes, for about two weeks. Then when it was no longer up-to-date I would get the games I could still run... then I would slowly be phased out while other PC gamers make fun of me for running game-x at low res setting-y. At which point I'll get fed up with it and go back to consoles. Like I did the last time I was a PC gamer.
1- If it has any option for local mp. or splitscreen is enabled in online mp, then it'll definitely be a console pick for me. Some of us have spouses who game with us.2- Unified online/trophies. Sure Steam has achievements, and GFWL, and I imagine most of the other different services you would use, depending on game, but splitting them into multiple different services negates the point of having them in the first place. May as well just throw out teh achievement/trophy concept.
3- I prefer a controller. Yes, I know you can plug a controller in to a PC. How well it works with any given game varies. And even for the games it works fine on, in most cases you have to mess around setting up button-mapping because most pc games don't automatically have dev supported controller layouts (since you can plug in any number of different controlelrs with different numbers of buttons, configurations, etc).
4- Playing on the couch. Yes, I know the pc can be hooked to a tv and used with wireless keyboard/mouse. Most people don't because keyboard/mouse in your lap (without a desk) sucks royally. Also, many of us don't have the luxury of having many pcs, so the pc for gaming will also have to be the pc for work, productivity, general computing. Meaning some of us may need to have that computer in a different room. An office or something. And, while I could shut it down, unplug everything, move it to the other room, hook it all up, and boot up, I prefer not to when I already have a perfectly good console already in the living room.
I know the assumption is that anyone who prefers consoles has obviously never played a pc game, because pc gaming is 1 million percent superior in every conceivable way, but it's really not the case. PC gaming has the potential to have better graphics, depending on the pc, but that's about it.

1- that's only a few games that have local multiplayer on consoles now. But yeah there's more on consoles.
2-Don't understand why people care about achievements, but whatever.
3- almost every racing game, sport game, and a lot of fps games automatically detect a 360 controller and immediately have all the buttons ready. That proves you just don't know much about that.
4- Yeah. Moving a pc would be a pain, but I prefer using a monitor. You could prefer using a TV.
PC has better graphics, controls (More options for racing games, mouse, flight sticks, etc.), and more games. Consoles do have a lot to offer though.
I would, and I would immediately download Amnesia from Steam and mess my pants whilst playing it... and love every second of it. Seriously, Crysis, Deus Ex, whatever. They could have kept all that stuff on PC if I could just get to play Amnesia.RandoIph
I think Amnesia (or at least Penumbra) runs on pratically any PC. Have you tried the demo?

1- There's not as many as I would like, but there's still a lot of games that have local MP. I've got maybe 30-40 games in my current ps3 collection. Maybe 10-12 of them do not have some form of local multiplayer.2- They're fun. I don't play a game solely for trophies, but they do add to the replay and encourage me to explore more thoroughly and/or play games to 100% that I might otherwise not finish, etc. And given the choice between playing the same game on two platforms, I'll pick the platform where I already have an established profile and friends and trophy-score, etc.
3- I don't play that many racing games, and hardly any sports games at all. Lots of FPS detect a 360 controller, but that means theres a lot that don't as well. And what about the dualshock? I prefer it over the 360 pad by far. Looks like first I need to find some unofficial unsigned drivers, then set it up and fiddle with it (may or may not have english menus, depending on which unofficial drivers I get). And still set up custom button-mapping in individual games for most of them, as it'll just be a generic 12 or so button gamepad.
4- Yeah.
PC does have better graphics (since this thread is making the absurd position of "What if a top-of-the-line gaming pc is free--in the real world, whether it has better graphics or not is dependent on how much you want to pay), but that doesn't automatically make it better. Consoles support wheels for racing sims, can potentially support KB/M for shooters (see CS:GO on PS3), multiple types of controllers (DS3/Move, third party controllers) etc. There are a lot more games... of course, most of those don't require a high end gaming rig anyway., as that includes tons of smaller budget and indie games (in other words, I can and probably do already play a lot of those games). As far as I can tell, the PC does NOT have more big budget blockbusters, at least not in the types of games I'm interested in.
All I'm saying is, many PC guys around here seem to frequently have the opinion that pc gaming is better in every way, and that other than a few specific exclusives on consoles, the only reason anyone would ever choose to play a game on console other than pc is ignorance. There's plenty of us lowly consolites who have tried pc gaming and have perfectly legitimate reasons to still prefer consoles.
It would be exhausting. I'd like to leave the computer alone and avoid useless upgrades. I don't like leather. I'd rather use my monitor. You only need to upgrade like once every three years. And if you go with AM3+ mobos you won't even need to take apart your PC just swap whatever you got at the time out. Hence, why I'd avoid the useless upgrades.[QUOTE="LovePotionNo9"][QUOTE="kris9031998"]
, free games, a top of the line monitor and headset, a guy who instantly upgrades your computer the time your computer isnt top of the line, a leather computer chair (or a cable hooked into your tv), and a personal computer helper, would you game on the PC? I honestly want to know.
