IGN BK Sonic review

I wasn't remotely surprised at this. In fact, I'm surprised they had any praise for it at all. Just goes to show that graphics don't mean anything in a game if the gameplay is trash. I feel sorry for my fellow sheep who hyped this game.

Sonic will never see a decent score again.

The funny thing is, if you glance at the review, it looks like they got evrything right except the gameplay. This is beyond sad. Poor sonic, maybe we should make a thread where the gamers come up with ideas to fix sonic since sega obviously sucks at it.

But unfortunately for SEGA there is the second, integral component to consider: gameplay. And it's here where Black Knight is defeated, slashed through its corrupted heart time and time again. Imagine the trademark intense speed, loop-de-loops, corkscrews, jumps and pinball mechanics that have helped define the Sonic name over the years. Good. Now throw all of that tried-and-true stuff out the window, slow down the action to a relative crawl, give the blue hedgehog a big sword, and throw enemy after enemy in his path. This is the backbone of the offensively awful design template that is a succubus, perpetually draining fun away from the experience. To make matters worse, Sonic himself is controlled clumsily with the nunchuk's analog stick -- he moves like a tank, barely able to nudge to the left and right so that he might sidestep approaching obstacles -- and he is constantly locked in stupid swordplay.

Pretty much what we were all thinking from the start.

And so the Sonic cycle continues... I didn't doubt it would be bad, but that bad? Ouch.

I expected it.

They need to stop. I hate to be *that guy* but let sonic go with dignity. That or bring him back in a 2d revamped retro kind of way. I wouldnt mind seeing a paper mario for wii relapse, sonic-alized every once in a while.

They were really flawed and I mean REALLY flawed but they did contain some enjoyment. Anyway, not a sonic thread without this:

a terrible sonic game, what a surprise.

Whoever thought this game was gonna be good and is surprised by this seriously needs to see a doctor.

There hasn't been a good Sonic game since the Sega Genesis days.

^^ Loved that game. Was actually the only sonic game I found enjoyable since 2d.

Maybe not a lot, but there was certainly a dedicated following looking forward to this. As with every Sonic game.

Hmm....maybe it wa a good thing Tails was not playble.

But it was expected. That what happens when you give a Hedgehog a weapon.

MAybe after all this SEGA well finally make SOnic the Hedgehog 4, I would not even care if it was 16 bit.

Thing is, the only fanboyish things people would pick up on randomly reading this thread comes from the posts attacking Willy. Or am I wrong ;). Seriously, Sonic looked like crap, the cycle has already been posted but is attacking another poster necessary?
