If Nintendo pours money into it, Sonic will be a first party game. Any game that isn't first party isn't published by Nintendo, and hence will get no funding.

I think the better way to put it is that this game is a representation of what most Wii games are like now. And most Wii games are what they are because of Nintendo's approach to console gaming - casuals. Casuals are not a small target market, but they are also the ones who won't keep a console afloat. I wonder if Nintendo knows what they are doing.

of course this game got a bad score there was no time put into it, sonic unleashed just came out 5 months ago. sega should take some time thinking about these games instead of just crapping out games.

Yes, this game is an indicator of the quality of Wii games. Just like Sonic '06 was for the other two consoles.

What's more pathetic, the Sonic franchise or system wars utter dependence on arbitrary review scores? You'd think what some attention-deprived critic over at IGN writes is the gospel around here.
