I would apply "dumb" to both of them. tylergamereview
QFT, both FB and Twitter are dumb. I do like Last.fm and Zune HD...
Come on, (this isn't for the pure Facebook haters) Anyone with their fanboy goggles off can clearly see that the Xbox 360 on trumps it. The PS3 browser is terrible, even compared to the Wii browser, due to the fact that the Wii remote is mouse like. The PS3 facbook update was stupid and dumb, and this comes from a person who has had their PS3 since may 2008, and their 360 since September this year. I'm no fanboy, this was just Sony's desperation to try and get in on MS thunder. I'm not the friend of either company. umm, the ps3 browser TRUMPS the wii browser by eons[QUOTE="DazedDarkness"][QUOTE="Squall18"]

Earlier this week, Xbox Live launched Facebook on the Xbox 360. Over there, you're getting the real Facebook; you can post, comment, look at photos, and so on. Here on the PS3, you're getting none of that. What you can do here is post purchase information, game events, and Trophy information to your Facebook profile.
Or go to facebook with the PS3's web browser and update stuff there. OR you could go to myspace, linkedin, pandora, espn, youtube, etc. The 360 has nothing on the PS3 when it comes to getting content from the web pal.[QUOTE="Yankees718"][QUOTE="Squall18"]

who the hell thought facebook on any console was a good idea anyway? Facebook has been on PS3 since launch. It has a damn WEB BROWSER.
blazinpuertoroc
Totally... This just seems like an awesome way for Sony, M$ and face book to burn some cash... Like, so what about Dig, Google, GAMESPOT and all the other stuff I use while I use face book...? Easily with a mouse and keyboard.
Seriously - no value add here... Facebook == PC! No chance peeps will use on X360 or PS3.
M$, Sony, Facebook... dumb, dumb, dumb...
Well this is the reason i got my ps3. Whats the point of doing anything in life unless people on facebook know you did it?
really facebook, we are really talking about facebook..................facebook.........not games but facebook, seriously facebook, not actual games but facebook. you all continue to dissapoint.InfiniteBlak
If its there its there, its not even bout that.........well its bout that. and facebook suppose to be da franchise player. How the hell can facebook make the 360 or PS3 better?
Man I love A.I. Im pretty sure he'll end up somewhere in New Yorksadly,

so why is Sony implemeting it in their XMB?Why have a browser, media functions and movie playback when the PC can do all that already?
Simpy because it is conveniant and (easier-depending on how it's implemented) when doing it on a console in the lounge with few button presses.
Consoles will simply have more functions added as time goes buy, regardless on what people here on System wars like it or not.
IGN simply stated that Facebook is better done on the Xbox360 then the PS3.
If people really didn't care about this they wouldn't bother posting in this thread.
because it's conveniant.Bad idea for both consoles. Seriously, why was this needed? If you have a facebook profile,m you've probably been using the PC fora while.
lundy86_4
I use MSN Live when I'mon the Xbox360, it comes in handy when friends sign in and we can catch up and sometimes I chat using the control keypad.
I'm not sure if you can use the voice chat with MSN LIVe on the Xbox360 with Windows users, but if they could it would be very good.

The PSN web browser is terrible. How anyone can use it for any length of time is a mystery to me.To all the people that have already said that Facebook has always been on the PS3...thank you...
It's amazing how many people, even an IGN editor that calls himself a fan of sony, don't know anything about any of the consoles they spend their time researching on...
I have no interest in facebook on consoles personally, but for some reason this string of articles ticked a nerve in me.
I'm glad the 360 has an impressive facebook interface, it makes up a little for not having a browser for people who give a crap about facebook.
70+ posts and yet people still haven't grasped the fact that they are talking about the integration.

I agree that part is conveniently overlooked.
The IGN dude showed that it was done very well on the Xbox360 into a morestreamed lined service as part onNXE-minus some hiccups of course.
I hear the PC argument, but this is about the comparrison between the consoles, it's functionality, ease of use and simplicity.
People saying that facebook is dumb is not what this topic is about.
Rumor news has it that Sony is in tlks with mozilla to bring a port of Firefox to the PS3...so now the browser won't be so bad now...even though I never had any problems with it...

well, considering that the PS3 already has access to the normal version of facebook.. i'd say it wins..
but also considering that it's FACEBOOK, I couldnt care less
I guess there really isn't a point, besides trying to get some of the really die hard social network fiends to buy a console. I'm sure it's worked on a few people.I see absolutely no point of this Facebook and twitter **** on consoles :|

Maybe this will push MS to release a version of IE to the 360. I couldn't care less if they do or not - we browsers, historically, haven't done well at all on video game systems - but there are some people that would like to see have it. I think MS is too worried about hackers, though. Seeing how Live is a closed community.[QUOTE="sthbytesN"]Maybe this will push MS to release a version of IE to the 360. I'm Going to go a bit of topic to this thread.
Yeah. That's one thing I don't like about the Xbox360 I admit is that it's a little to closed off- hardrives, perripherals, media centre..
On the other end though if MS were to implement I.E. it needs to be really streamlined to make sense browsing in the lounge.
Though Wii's browser does not have as much functionality as the PS3's it is quite easy to use what with the Wii mote.
Maybe if it had easy access to favourites, quick history, searches.
Another thing- If project Natal is as accurate as claimed we maybe able to just "Touch" type form 10 feet feet away from the screen.
But Browsers have to be designed with a console in mind.
Can we just go ahead and say that Facebook belongs on PCs and to an extent Cell Phones and not consoles?
Hmm..Yet both versions are "worthless"
If I want to use facebook, I go to my computer.
taj7575
I find it funny some PS3 fanboys say this and then others say "you can't shop and go online on your 360" when that's what a computer is for.
I agree, I want nothing to do with websites on my system, just games and features that enhance said games (music, friends etc).

so you can directly post your trophies and such..The key revelation from that article is that the IGN team is frequently drunk. Although, I suppose this was already assumed.

Plus, Facebook on the 360 isn't entirely useless to gamers. As stated at E3, devs will be able to use the 360's Facebook app, and allow the user to take screen shots of the game, and upload it directly to Facebook, among other game related features.

its more that now the PSN has integration with facebooks like information like trophies etc.Its just merely putting it up there with XBL and its integration when you think about it just opening up new things for facebook users to use really. If it were bebo integration i would be more intrigued as i am a bebo user purely cause all my mates use it and theres very little using facebook cept from a couple.
Really all both are gimmicks nothing more nothing less.thats what i think anyway.
