Yeah, the score means almost nothing. If you read the review, they barely even have any reasons for taking off points. Any RPG fan reading this post: ignore the score and try it out.
Well its a good score. Im tired of everyone needing something to be a 9 and up to buy/play. An 8 is just fine. To be honest I want the wii one more then this one mainly because I beat the GC tales game and its a direct sequel.
Too Human's kinda like Assassin's Creed-some people like it, some hate it. I know plenty of people who have bought it and love it. I understand that we only use gamespot scores, but it's taking it a bit too far to judge other site's credibility based on how close their scores come to GS' scores. In the end, they are all opinions anyway.

I've never played an RPG where a main male character gave off that aura.

Dosent matter, I dont see how anyone can go off one review source. Everyone has different tastes. The only game this gen I would rate a 10 is Gears of war. I have realised finally that my opinion is not fact and other people have different tastes that I dont agree with. The sad thing is there was a time when I couldnt see that.

Do you like JRPG's? I would say the strongest points of the game are the real-time battle system and huge replay value. The graphics are cel-shaded and the voice acting can get annoying, but if you don't care, then you are in for a good experience. There is a demo for the 360. Download it, but beware that the difficulty is slightly cranked up and the real game will ease you in more.
I thought the demo kind of sucked, but maybe I just didn't get a feel for the game. I think it was the ridiculous standard JRPG dialogue that threw me off.
