IGN: Skate 360=AAA. Skate PS3=AA. PS3 Loses Again

Now we can add the game Skate to the list of AAA (9.0) 360 titles. Unfortunately, the PS3 version fell flat, and is merely AA (8.8). Why does the PS3 continue to have worse multi-plat games? There is no reason for the games to not be exactly alike. accameron

hell, how does the PS3 always seem to get inferior reviews in multiplat games... I think I saw a review before where the PS3 version of a game (can't remember) got counted down b/c the shadows weren't as good as the 360 version.

You don't understand,in that time hat its being worked on the X360 version will be left alone ? There is not a single game that came the same time that look better on the PS3 than on the X360.

If anything it just proves In the same time it takes to develop the same game on each console,the X360 version will be better/ahead of the PS3 version.

Oblivion had more development time on the 360 and it was optimized for the 360 so they gave the PS3 more time to get it right. Also every game these days is made for the 360 and badly ported over to the PS3....

I like the PS3 version a lot better. If you have an HDMI cable, set the PS3 to Full Color Range...or something like that. The colors look so much better and because it's HDMI 1.3 and not 1.2 (360 Elite) the game is sharper and crisper. If you have a surround sound system, the PS3 will sound better with it's uncompressed audio...I think the PS3 makes up for a little less Anti-Aliasing.dream431ca

there are such things has a good port re4 was ported so many times and all the ports were good why cant ps3 do the same.

I didn't. EA is a big company and hence does big company practices (the things you mentioned). What is funny is TC trying to show IGN bias. The PS3 should have no problem in running this game. There is no doubt the blame lies elsewhere.

We now use IGN scores to determine flops/success here at GS? I don't care one way or the other but, man, it would be nice if lemmings were consistent with their standards. Seems like everytime you turn around, the lemmings have a new "respectable" source for game reviews.

I will point out that IGN also gave Wrekcless, Blinx and Fable AAA status while the game flopped everywhere else.

You happen to have a hdmi 1.3 fully supported display? If not then your cable will do nothing to improve the visual quality of your games over a elite.

They said they finish the 360 games completely before putting focus on the PS3 titles because the 360 currently has the higher install base......
