310k is not a minority. The people that are being vocal about these consoles on gaming sites are the people who will be buying a console at launch.

This is not a leap into the future, they're literally playing catch-up to PCs. You want next-gen? It's too late for that. Modded PC games have been leagues ahead of the vanilla releases for years. These systems are literally trying to catch up to the standard, and with their specifications locked by AMD the difference between them isn't going to be nearly as different as the warring fanboys and the stupid internet polls are trying to make them out to be.

The Wii ended up being complete garbage, by that logic the system that sells the best is the best console? It catered to casuals and has been the worst selling console the past 3 years, it also had the shortest lifespan and missed out on the majority of quality multiplats. People don't realize the Wii was an exception, as it was the first console to sell well that didn't appeal to gamers. The thing is those days are over as casuals have moved on to tablets and smartphones. It will be gamers who choose the winner this generation.

The core gamers are who buys consoles in their first couple years. The casuals won't buy until 3 or 4 years later and if they view it as a dead platform by then (like the Wiiu is and will continue to be) they will go with whatever they see as a hot product. If X1 is dying on shelves a month or 2 after launch and PS4 is sold out for awhile everyone will view it as the must have and want it because they can't find it. 

Without the core gamers a console will die before casuals even consider it.

Next gen that is very doubtful, hell PS4 even has blizzards support. Outside of MMO and RTS there will be very few pc exclsuvies. If neither of those games appeal to you there should be virtually no reason to own a pc for gaming. Regardless who doesnt have a pc? I wasn't the one that went on the rant agaisnt pc like the person who made the comment in the first place against next gen consoles.

Other then the 360 most of my launch consoles have been fine. Yes there are lots of things about the X1 that bug me . Being always online is one of them, I actually rarely buy used games but the fact that any game i buy would have no value bugs me. But what bugs me more is the fact that is more centered around kinect and television. The Xbox one may have some titles in the future that cause me to buy it eventually but Sony has already done enough to make it a day one purchase as it has at least 3 titles I want at launch and it seems to be the more capable hardware.

You seem to thing that overtime the X1 will apparently fix all its issues and maybe you are right , but there is a possiblity that it may never be the console for you. For an example I never bought a Wii because it never appealed to me. The X1 seems like its going down that same casual road.

If the PS4 is a better machine and offers better games then I'll buy it, begrudgingly if only for their shitty controller. I'm not sure sure the term (and I feel like a cvnt saying it) 'lemming' is wholly cross-generaltional - people will migrate to the PS4 if better I'm sure, as they did (as I did in fact) from the PS2 to the original xbox. People seem to be ejaculating a little too prematurely around here at the mo (although being a forum aimed to towards individuals arguing about gaming systems any kind of ejaculation is most welcome)
