I was going to say maybe they were including games developed by studios they owned at the time, but Ratchet and Spider-Man are on here before Insomniac was acquired in 2019. Then I was thinking maybe it's only Sony owned IP...but then Sony doesn't own Spider-Man. Guess IGN is just trash at ranking PS games.
Sony partially owns the Spider-Man IP. If I remember they own the rights to Spidey video games. Spyro and Crash Bandicoot were never 1st-party in any kind of way. They were just exclusives.
@WitIsWisdom: well SOCOM 1-3 and Combined Assault are currently available to play online via private servers on PS2 and PC if you are interested.
if you still own a PS3, you can currently play SOCOM Confrontation via private servers. The guys who run it are also talking about reviving SOCOM 4 and MAG as well.
They can keep S4 offline. I know about the rest and did use Xlink to play S2 for awhile. I have a buddy playing Confrontation online but I'm not entirely sure where my PS3 is.. all I know is it's packed away.. and I'm lazy.. lol.
lol @ the guy saying I'm an alt account because I called out two games being overrated I said nothing about the games on the list...list is fine I guess. But suggesting Crash and Spyro be on there is laughable. They're fine games for the time, but nothing special. I'm not saying those franchises are bad, but even back in the PS1 days there were far better/deeper platformer games. Crash and Spyro are just watered down Mario 64. Again, nothing wrong with that but they don't belong on a Best of Sony list.
