Yeah, FFXIII is as good as it gets. Running through endless hallways seeing trippy looking shit while listening to a nonsense story in a game that feels aimless? Sounds like LSD in a hotel, I can definitely relate.

And yeah, IGN clearly has a long running bias for PC, they're not a console focused website at all.

This thread would have been better once the list was completed, but I couldn't even imagine ranking 100 of the best RPG's.

I get that FFXIII never made it to PC but that does not excuse IGN's obvious bias if they fail to include it. I would suspect the newest Persona ranks the highest because it is freshest in memory.

Okay what video games do you like?Books are fairly linear as well btw. I mean video games might be a funner way to experience a story but I do not see how they are superior to movies.

Books aren't linear, I can read any page I want in any order.

Game stories are superior to movies because you're in control of everything that happens.

For example, take Ninja Gaiden Black vs. Ninja Assassin.

In Ninja Assassin, the movie is always going to play out the same way no matter what. Trust me, I even used the force and nothing changed.

But in Ninja Gaiden Black? Sure, most plebs would just play the game and follow the story. But me? I sit there at the beginning of the first level and stare off the cliff into the sunset, thinking about the ninja hotdogs I'll make for dinner. It's art. I'm not confined to the trappings of a movie, that shit is for commoners.

You can pause a movie during certain scenes and give your own fanfiction as well or plan out the next viewing sequence. There is a chapter select, rewind, pause, etc.

Personally, I always thought of Pong as the origin story of the universe. A detailed account of the events leading up to the Big Bang so to speak.

I had a bad trip once. It's funny, because some of the shit that had me terrified at the time seemed so comical after the fact.

Mine was my very first one, and in my infinite wisdom, I decided to do it alone. I remember I was having a pretty good time, and then I close my eyes, and I imagine I hear scurrying, and I'm like, oh look, a mouse! And then I see a mouse, and it's cute, but then it turns into a giant fucking monster, and it was all downhill from there.

Needless to say it was amazing.

I can almost bet cash on trash like FF6 or FF7 making it into the top 5.

Then again, lists like these are always a joke to me, as are the people who point to them to validate their own love for games that make these kinds of lists.
