It's fine if Nintendo does it. Just like there's a good reason for not localizing most games, just like they keep their consoles region locked, just like they dont develop an enjoyable online service, just like they dont drop the prices for games that were released over 3 or 4 years ago, just like they dont care for 3rd party support, just like they dont create new ip's.

But hey, localizing costs money, so they shouldn't let North Americans play these games, region locking keeps gamers from just importing games from other countries for cheaper so it makes sense, online sucks Nintendo likes to promote local multiplayer which is better, games are still selling why would they drop the prices Nintendo doesn't owe us anything, 3rd party doesn't matter only first party exclusives which Nintendo is the best in the entire world, new ip's every new Mario is like a whole nother genre I dont want new games I want what I like which is Mario, Mario, Mario.

There's excuses for everything. Maybe if it was just one or two things, forgivable but not having any games is the worst thing a console can do. There's no excuse, no positive side but hey, brand loyalty till the end right?

and to the one saying nintendo needs to take notes from sony, ya lets take notes from one who charged 600 for a ps3 with absolutely no games at launch and continues to lag with psp

ya thats some one we should take note from , nintendo dont need to take notes/steal thunder from the competition to get where it is ,

they aint sony , ---- a company whos notorious for looking into nintendos playbook every gen

They're still heavily relying on the success of their old IP's because they're too scared to try something new.

Plus their core IP's, while having good gameplay, cannot match up to the level of games such as Mass Effect or Bioshock. Mario and Zelda still have zero voice acting, making it hard to care about the plot or characters. It feels like they're stuck in the past in terms of plot and modern game design.

Oh yes they can. I'm one of the ME haters here. I see nothing special about the series. Mario and Zelda don't need VA. Never needed it then and still don't need it now. Plus Sunshine had voice acting. Zelda games had voice acting and those were horrible beyond imagination. Ace Attorney doesn't use voices yet it's one of the best series this generation with a great plot and even better characters. Modern isn't always better also. Their series aren't the only ones stuck in the past.

However i have to add its pretty ridiculous the excuses people make to cover up the bad moves by their systems of choice. If a console would flop people would say "well good thing the console i spent my dollars on is bad because this way i don't have to stay at home playing games and can go out with my friends".

But oh well, as long as it works for the better.

I'm a big fan of the Wii but this is really sad. The Wii does have a drought this fall. So does the 360 as far as quality exclusives and no one is complaining.

Systems can't have the best lineups every season/year, especially when there's a new system comming next year.

I'll still end up buying it but it's hard. Sometimes developers just dont understand what makes a series great. Retro got it, they knew what metroid was about and made a game that was nothing like Metroid yet it was exactly like Metroid. Ninja Theory did like the opposite, they made a game that looked like Metroid but wasn't anything like Metroid at all.

A good game is a good game, period. It doesn't have to be exactly like every other game in the series to be good

Nobody forces you to buy a new game. You could actually wait until they become $20, like the older titles. Still, do whatever you like. When the GC died, I bought up a bunch of the games I never got to play for less than half of what they were at launch.
