TLDR, but Halo 2's single player was absolutely dreadful.

I liked Halo2 Sp for what it was, a simple polished shoot em up.It was fun while it lasted, although some levels dragged on to long and the ending was absolute trash. You also have to view the game as it would have appeared in 2004, back then there were almost no comparable game on consoles and the effect Halo2 had for XBL was huge

Mp is where Halo shines though

In 1Up's Halo 3 Blowout they discuss the previous games in great detail. I think it's an honest and fair opinion.

I don't know if anyone has said this but i actually think that the campaing in halo2 was pretty good considering how the game was rushed.I think thereis a lot of deatil hidden in the subtext of what happens in the stroy. in halo2 rather than focus on a single event like halo1, halo2 focuses on the chain of events that the destruction of the first halo had on the covenant, hence the arbiter and such. As for the enemies and such though, there realy wasn't gonna be any new enemies in halo2 cause you met most of them in halo1.

Why are they stupid?

Stupid is when an art designer dips his fingers into sulphuric acid before starting a design. I don't think the art designers did that.

So what's stupid about it? Or you just dislike the art st yle they've used?

I actually agree with some of the things that you say, the campaign was defiantly the weakest point of Halo 2. but I stll had a blastwithit since it still was fun as hell to play co-op. The mulitplayer is still enjoyable by todays stanadardand the soundtrackand atmosphere was a s good as ever.

Oh god, the elevator.

What a pointless waste of time, along with the rest of the flood.

it was alright, at some parts a bit boring that my friend and i had to drink some coke to keep us awake.

but the most disappointing part must be the end boss, i mean it's a freaking space monkey with a hammer, and after we killed him very quickly we thought "great now the big boss" and the game ended, WTF?! couldn't you bungie make a more exciting boss than the hammering monkey?

Pretty amazing the game scored 9.x here at Gamespot.

Amazing.....

I don't care how good the multiplayer is supposed to be. There are better options on the PC.

Weapon and enemy variety is sadly lacking.

Environments were boring and repetitive. Very little environmental detail. The expansive, oudoor areas were nice, but the sterile, indoor environments were bland, colorless, and again, repetitive.

Driving around in the warthog was a blast.

The Flood level was complete trash. Pitiful attempt to extend the game.

Music was good.

I'll be playing the game again soon before the next one comes out and gladly post my revised thoughts. These are from what I remember when I last played it, which was awhile ago.
