Ive had many problems with my X360 ever since ive had mine and have had a horrible experience with MS tech support and am sick of it and am considering going PS3...im aware PS3 does not have many good games at the moment but it's upcoming exclusives are beginning to appeal to me more since the X360 to me seems overly saturated with shooters. Horrible experiences with MS tech support? My experience with them has ranged from terrific-unbelievable. ive gotten 3 free headsets, a free harddrive, and a whole console for free, with no real issues. The people are always helpful and nice.
I you have enough cash and the games genuinely appeal to you then I see nothing wrong with purchasing a PS3. It is a great console with great games out and upcoming.

I just expect to see a more varied library of games....cause I never saw anything quite like Okami on Xbox (i had an Xbox but put it towards a 360)...my experience with tech support is that I CAN NEVER GET THROUGH
And warranty is up but I have extended store warranty but am going to get screwed out of all my saves and right now dont trust the 360s since I know people who are beginning to have similar problems. if I get a PS3...I plan to get another 360 in the future (im going to keep some of my 360 stuff) once more bugs are worked out. Im also not concerned about PS3 malfunctioning cause ive put up with Sony customer service and well....they've satisfied me every time. Either way im a little torn, I doubt im going to do the exchange now but since I have the option to do it im considering exercising it in the near future (probably not til the summer)

Also im not going to say that you havent heard good things since Ive had people who told me "everyone they knew had Nintendo 64 and PSX was bad" lol and for me it was the opposite...most everyone I knew had both or a PSone so I guess it depends on what people hear and go through...for me MS tech support=bad lol

There's been a few guys on the forum also who've had complaints and I even remember one guy from brazil who had a shipping problem because of them so he pretty much lost his chance to fix his 360 because 2 days after their decision not to send to brazil they would not repair his console.

He has a system which completely destroys its competition in the quality of games it showcases. No need to downgrade. The best course of action would be to keep the best system right now, and if the PS3 eventually gets some good games and becomes worth it, then consider purchasing one - who knows, it may have gone down in price by then.

well-ive had a few "go for its" already and some wait out, and some other get another 360 so I think ive decided to: Switch to PS3, keep some of my Xbox 360 games *weed out crap like Perfect Dark Zero and since Oblivion is on PS3 weed that out* and controller, and then get another Xbox 360 down the road when they have dropped (or when the oft rumored larger HD model comes out)...when I do that-I can retrieve my old gamertag right?

Funny thing is-only reason why im interest in Blue Dragon is because of the point that its being made by the makers of Chrono Trigger (Chrono Trigger is the game that got me into collecting old school video games-and it's my favorite game....ever...something about it I just love)

Let me explain why: I had an xbox with warranty...got it pretty much right around the 360...found out I can return it for a full credit refund towards a 360 (pretty much $150 off an Xbox 360) so I said "why not?" it was April of last year.....well before I knew any detail on PS3...and getting a PS3 for $250 seemed worthwhile...I was wanting some shiny prettier new grafx at the time anyways and I was graduating high school so it seemd like a good gift to myself lol...I only regret it cause I just dont trust the build quality of the system much....after my experiences...and nah you weren't rude....
In short I think im going to have to say a PS3 will be worthwhile but since I still have a little bit of my gold membership left....AND at the moment there is not much worthwhile out as we all know....after having a PS2 since launch...ive learned my lesson....NEVER buy a launch console ever again....Wii was my only exception-----only cause of Zelda lol

Not to be rude, but why did you buy a 360 if you're strongly anticipating an exclusive PS3 game? FFXII was excellent indeed, I gave it a 10 review, but thats the game itself, I did not took out score for this but... FF isn't the same it was..., when we will see another FFVII god knows, I hope they don't take away that feel like they did with ffxii in ffxiii.
Best decision you could every make. I did it also. Don't let the greatness of the PS3 pass you buy. Plus that $50 on Live can now go towards another game.
I don't see why you would get rid of your 360 right before Mass Effect comes out...
Whatever though. There's around 4 JRPG's and 3 Western RPG's coming out this year along with a few adventure games. It has alot of shooters, but it's not oversaturated with them.
If anything, wait for Mass Effect to come out and then (after you've beaten that) considering selling it again.

If I could recommend anything it would be to keep the 360 and buy a PS3, because I think both have some great games for the system.
Judging by what you've said though PS3 seems to have more for you so if only want one console, I'd recommend that to you. FFXIII is rumoured to hit Japan late 2007 and early-mid 2008 for the US just to let you know.

Why are you worried about your saves if you have an extended store warranty? All you do is have them switch your hard drive with the new system and your all set to go? I had to exchange my 360 three days after I purchased it but it was worth it to me. I too have the extended warranty with GameSpot and if mine breaks down, I will simply trade it in for another one. I also have the PS3 and believe it will have a great future but do you really want to miss out on some of the great games coming out?

Store wont let me swap hard drives (Best Buy is my usual console stop) and I never said I was leaving 360 for good...just for a bit...right now im looking more forward to PS3s future...it's future lineup just appeals to me more...that's all and that's why im considering switching to that and just getting another 360....at a later point in the future...
Also, from every experience that I have had in trading/selling one of my systems, I regret it to this day. If you want a PS3, save up for it and exchange your 360 for a new one. BTW, if you have an extended store warranty for the 360 why in the world are you trying to contact Microsoft customer service when you can just exchange yours for a new one at the store? Alan

I spoke to Best Buy yesterday in case I need to exchange my PS3, and they said that I can talk to a manager about swapping out hard drives. I've had to talk to M$ support 5 times and have only had 1 bad experiences but thats because it was the 5th time it was faulty and i was being a bastard, so i cant blame the M$ guy...

Ah that's exactly why im waiting and I think my PS2 is on the fritz so if it dies...I at least can use the PS3 to finish some of my PS2 games im working on (primarily Okami and FFXII)
