I'm feeling the ps3's visuals

Sold my 360 and got a ps3 the other day. I had done the same thing a year ago and wasnt completely wow'd by it so i returned it. This time I feel differently. I got Killzone 2 and MLb the show and these are two games i feel couldnt be done on the 360. There just is a lot more going on under the hood and i can feel the power of the cell starting to take over.

I'm not feeling its visuals and they definitely aren't unacheivable on the 360. I think I've gotten to the point where visuals don't matter to me anymore. I look at Crysis now and just shrug my shoulders. I don't think that's normal.

I'm with you. I want fun and involvement and innovation. I want gripping storylines and mindbending experiences that involve competition and cooperation. The era of eye candy has gone on too long.

Thats what im saying though. The show has a lot more going on under the hood. Visually I'm not talking eye candy per sey, I'm just saying there is a lot more immersive stuff going on. Ultimately we take these games in visually, so having hte capability to do a lot more on screen AI wise and visually adds to the experience. That's what i am talking about. I dont think the 360 has the ability to do certain things and games tend to be dumbed down. They might look great and on par but there is more going on under the hood here..... take the show for example the show vs mlb 2k9. Both games look great. One plays like crap, the other doesnt. I also get the same feeling with gears, halo vs killzone. I'm not saying the 360 isnt good. I had one and it does amazing freakin things, but the ps3 is on another level at this point. IT wasnt until this year and games like mgsiv, lpb, killzone and mlb the show.

When I have more fun playing my SNES, DSand PS1 over anything else its just seems like I have either out grown or just don't really care about graphics. They are nice but I only can awe at graphics for so long before I just don't care.

I honestly don't see it. A baseball game, a pretty shooter and MMGS4 all of a sudden put the PS3 on another level? No offence but I've had more stimulating gameplay experiences on my SNES. This isn't a slam to the PS3 more than gaming in general now a days but in my opinion this gen needs to do something other than boast power and stats to get me to see anything other than another gaming system unlike what a lot of people here see.

Yeah, MLB looks great in high definition...clean and sharp. But there is not a whole lot going on in a baseball game so its not very taxing on the system and the audience in the stadiums are lacking diversity and repeat animation every few seconds. Killzone 2 is great...its a fantastic well made shooter...but is it really any better than COD4 ? Is it really?

360 been out for 3 years PS3 only for 2 if the 360 could do graphics like killzone 2 they coulve done it in all that time and did not, it's not powerful enough to create graphics like Killzone 2, MGS4 or MLB The Show.

Honestly, I can't feel anything when I play my PS3 or 360.

ps3 newer exclusives do things the 360 cant imo. MLB the show 09, MGSIV, Killzone, LBP, Resistance 2 would have to be dumbed down on the 360 imo. White Knight Chronicles will be the same. FF will be dumbed down because of the 360 which is a shame.

Reistance 2 and White Knight Chronicles are fugly. LBP isn't all that awe inspiring either. Again, you are trying to tell me that 3-4 years into consoles with about a 7 year life span the 360 can't do baseball, MGS4 and Killzone 2? Get out of here man.

I have a CS degree and am a hardware guru, so saying something like that isn't silly. Plus it has nothing to do with that anyways. Just look at the games and what they are doing. They are much more complex than anything that has been done on the 360. A lot of it has to do with the media but it's also a computational thing as well. There is too much going on on screen as far as character models and what they are doing. The 360 could possibly try to replicate these things but there would have to be a compromise somewhere.

Well from what I see both are pretty well balanced so far, and until I see something to the contrary I will take your statement with a grain of salt. In all honesty, neither has outshined the opposition.

Cow's really need to ease off Killzone 2, its just getting annoying now. Okay, we get it, its a pretty shooter with cool multiplayer that was in development for YEARS. You all are taking away from Killzone's actual accomplishments by talking about it like its the game that chages everything. A couple months ago, you were talking about how much FPS's are lame. I realize this is system wars, but c'mon, a LITTLE bit of uniformity could greatly benefit everyone. Therefore, I humbly request that cows stop worshipping Killzone, lemmings stop playing sales, and the three sheep still lurking around these parts can do whatever they want for all I care.
