$15 is nothing we burn that in a few days on lunch coffee whatever. And I'm going to just have a SICK 24-27in good PC flat screen and some nice sound. And I'm always going to play all the TOP END PC games in full graphics and never have to worry about upgrades again.

I'll most likely stick with my online gaming on Xbox Live or until i'm confident that Onlive can compete in online shooters. Either way. **** YEAH i'm playing games like The Witcher 2 Crysis 2 Half Life 3 Dues Ex 3 Stalker and all the great PC games at full graphics and no worries becuase i'll be playing the single player aspect of them until Like I said the online game proofs itself.

Onlive is going to be OFF THE ******* HOOK!!!!!!

It is a VERY interesting prospect from the technical standpoint. If it kicks off and becomes extremely popular....could it cripple the hardware market (in regards to expensive new video card releases?)

I agree it sounds like a lot but lets break it down 30 days in a month on ave, So we are looking at $2 bones a day basically  It's nothing most people spend $7 a day on cigs. I don't smoke thankfully.

Or like I said it's less then a cup of coffee a day most places.

LOL.... $15 /mo. is equal to $2 /day?? LOL

sig worthiness right here... I'll stick with my Bobby sig though.

on topic... yeah $15 is cheap enough.... but "oh my internet is down, I can't play even single player games"... or even worse "Hooray, I have lag in my single player games"

I'd probably try it for a month just because I'm curious how well it works. In the long run, I see no sense in spending $180/yr. for this service unless it's being used through a laptop.

But then you pay $15 bucks a month and how much are the games ? $50 bucks ? No resell value, say you buy 10 games thats $500 bucks if onlive bombs your games and money is gone.

The MAJOR difference is the Go was constrained. With onlive it can evole performance wise it will always get better and better and better graphics better hardware performance upgrades. There was and is no demand for a PSP Go becuase most people who want a PSP already got one.

Nor was it $15 a month JUST TO OWN without being able to play games. :P I think people are missing this when praising onlive:

ONLIVE IS $15/MONTH JUST TO OWN IT, EACH GAME WILL COST ADDITIONALLY.

You can rent as you go or buy whole game. I don't think there is any question that the games will be cheaper on Onlive. The publishers are already making money from retail sales. So they know being your not get a hard copy they will sell rental for cheaper.

$180 a year by default, better to just upgrade your PC and play games without having to worry about service being down or laggy.

Onlive will break down to .50 cents a day. If you buy games off of steam and want to have the best graphics and stuff your spending $1000 a year in having bleeding edge PC hardware. So yes Onlive is the far cheaper way to go to still get top end graphics.

ONLIVE IS $15/MONTH JUST TO OWN IT, EACH GAME WILL COST ADDITIONALLY.

Knock on wood twice. But I do not remeber the last time my Comcast Broadband was down. So beside maybe for some server maintence on Onlive I do not see this as an issue at all. Wait was not PSN just down the other day:?

$1000 a year?   For bleeding edge? Sure, but to MAX OUT, the BEST games, you can spend half that every 3 years. Buying the best hardware avaiable is stupid, all it does is bragging rights, because for just about every game, a videocard 2 or 3 years old will max it out with a smooth framerate at a high resolution, and thats the formula for everything you need to run a game properly.

Also, don't be act dumb please, its not your ISP that has to be down, its the ONLIVE servers, if you don't even understand that much...

Well the servers could go down and then what. You wouldint be able to play at all and thats money wasted right there. Also if your the type that likes 1st party games this thing is usless since it wont be getting those and theres a chance it wont get certain games day one and you will have to wait later on to play that game. Those are 3 pretty big downsides to me.

It sounds like they are targeting console gamers who have been interested in PC but never taken the plunge.

Console gamers are a convenience orientated audience, Onlive is convenience orientated PC gaming. But they cannot expect to get the best of all worlds, you cannot have Onlive and the freedom to customize. You cannot have Onlive and expect a enthusiast budget experience.

Even if it all works, I think people expecting a high end PC experience for a $15 subscription are in for a let down. But for the typical gamer it would be 'good enough'; and really that's what solutions like consoles and this are meant for.

Yes and no. Clearly if the sevice becomes a hit then they will surly be getting a ton of the great games. It will be no different then now if you want PS games you have a PS3 if you want MS games you have a 360 if you want PC games you have a PC. So you always have draw backs from system to system.

Yeah, I'd much rather spend that $180 upgrading my PC every year then onlive. Even then $180 a year on upgrades is overkill. I mean just looking at your setup I'd imagine that 8800GT SLI can still max out most games on the market right now. Not to mention there are so many things wrong with Onlive...Don't get me started :P

I doubt it, people need good video cards for video editing and like myself 3D design (maya, 3DS MAX and Solidworks.)

They say 1080p 60fps service is comingin 2011...if it lasts that long :P Then the other question is how much of tyour monthly memory will it chew up...:? In Canada most ISPs give around 60GB per month which isnext tonothing.

I know give the service a chance if they can pull off 1080P at 60 frames that will be awsome. Look were PC gaming started 25 years ago.

PSP Go was not cloud computing.

No **** sherlock, but the fact was that it was downloadable only. This will either bomb, or do very well. I'm leaning towards bomb.

You kind of disrespecting the intellegence of hermits PC gamers. They are very accustomed to DL content have been for years. So there is a big market for this service in waiting.

But why bother if you can everything that you need on Steam already?

$15 a month is a bit too much for me. 1 Year is $180 a year, added to the fact that you also have to buy games for it too.

So say you buy six games for On-Live, thats 300 without taxes. Then you pay for it.. thats 480.. and the fact that it could go under at any time if the launch doesn't go that well, is just a few reasons to stay far away from this ticking time bomb.
