I think that everyone knows that technical refers to things like pizel count, texture resolution, shaders, right? You know very well that gamespot can't reviews how well a game is coded for each particular system since they don't have the source code or the technical know-how. Pre-renderd cutscenes are not taken into account. Also MGS4 animations are not as great as they are made out to be, they are certainly not as big of a leap as HL2 were and feel rather 'standard' for this generation.

So? By that logic MGS4 isn't all that it's hyped up to be unless you have a PS3. Face it, MGS4 without a PS3 is just coffee support.

I don't think anyone is arguing with you about how Crysis looks better than MGS4. I even agree with you. It achieves a lot that the PS3 and MGS4 cannot. What validates (to some point) the award is the fact that the visuals of MGS4 were achieved on a console such as the PS3. Whether you agree that should win or not is up to you. Personally, I find it impressive that Kojima and his men were able to get that game running on the PS3, whereas I wasn't so impressed with Crysis running on a PC because I know that the sky is the limit with those machines.

It doesn't matter if you're impressed or not... This is a technical graphic award about the game... not about what it achevied vs its hardware. And if anything, it's very short for what Sony promissed the PS3 to be aka 120 fps @ 1080p.

So in other words, what the PC has as a advantage should not count because console are not able to match...???

Anyway, just because PC hardware is better, it doesn't mean every game will look better. And, that's proof, since Crysis is the best looking PC game and the best looking game out now on any platforme.

I don't think they gave the techincal graphics award to crysis warhead as its preety much an expansion pack to the game that won best graphics technically last year. BTW the mgs4 picture dosen't do the games graphics justice, even if they aren't to the standard of crysissumner1456

Again, why was it even nominated then?? there's no rule saying "expansion games"... wich is a full game btw... don't count.

indeed :lol: not to mention, DOOM3 doesnt have dynamic HDR / shadows :| and the island IS huge... probably bigger than all the sets in MGS4 combined, YET being fully rendered in real time
