What is this.2 diffrence you speak ofI missed that one.On a side note im not trying to ruffle any feathers,I just wish everyone would enjoy what they have, you know a pepsi is considered a luxery in poor areas around the globe? And here we are, spoiled americans crying over a video game,we suck.mjfan2000

well if were going to critize gamers for being spoiled i think we should apply the blame everywhere

austrailians should stop whining about what kraft did to veggimite

people should stop complaining about unsafe cars and gas guzzlers

fans of bands should stop complaining when their band changes their music

Gets owned? lol. I dont think so. If anything, it just further convinced IW that the pc community will always continue to cheat, hack, and pirate. Now im not saying the console players are any better, but to be honest, the rates are much lower. So IW has a perfectly falid reason to quit supporting these guys if this behavior continues. Which we all know it will.

Ah, I was hoping PC gamers didn't buy the game, resulting in low sales which would have forced ACTIVISION and IW to make their next game on PC much, much better.

I guess the PC audience couldn't boycott it?:(

Then again, I will wait till next year before I really scrutinize the sales of this game. I don't care about sales, but I do care if anyone can stand up to the Evil Empire, Activision.

Snagal123

Poor sales may give the opposite effect, and there simply won't be a PC version next time.

^This. IW and Activision will just claim piracy is rampant -----> no more PC version.

Fine with me, there will always be a new developer that will come out of nowhere and give Call of Duty a run for their money. Besides, Infinity Wards sold out a long time ago.

Its a shame really with all the now, IW is going to turn around and not give PC users MW3 or whatever because of how much MW2 is being pirated etc.

"Buh buh buh, you guys arent having MW3, you guys were mean and pirated MW2".

MW2 is awsome across all platforms, hermits need to grow up,its just a game, dont want it,dont buy it,infinty ward can have my 60 bucks, they earned it,boycotting a game?really?get a girlfreind and play some spec ops,mw2,best game of 09,period,and I bought it for the ps3,and havent touched another game since I bought it,games are for fun,as joker would say,WHY SO SERIOUS?grow up,cows, lems and herms, lifes to short.sorry,im rambling, but I ramble the truth mjfan2000

And this right here is part of the reason why MW2's multiplayer does not appeal to me.

Must be one of the cry baby herms I spoke of,didnt mean to hurt your wittle feelings.Like I said ,you need a girlfreind,or boyfreind, witch is probably your prefrence, seein how your acting like a little !#%@* mjfan2000

Microdevine

That logic is so ass backwards I don't even know where to start. If anything, what IWnet does is enourage this type of behavior. It makes it easier for people to justify it, and it accommodates for it by removing the options for users to moderate the servers themselves. So to see this happening is not surprising in the least. It is surely something IW was anticipating as well. But that excuse of yours will surely be very similar to the official one if IW eventually does pull the plug on CoD for PC. If they do it will have very little to do with piracy and hacks and everything to do with the failure of making PC gamers accept the implementation of the "improved" business model IWnet allows for, and all the other drawbacks that coems with it. AIW has shown long before today that they don't give a **** about the PC community. Trying to turn this around to make it look like it'd be our fault makes you resemble it a shower and is to kiss stupid, if you'll pardon my babelfished French translated back into English.

Unhappy with the fact that the game has no dedicated servers, votekick, voteban, or really any system to deal with cheaters, Hackers figured out a way to get aimbot, speedbot, infinite ammo, and other things in the game in under a week.crazedweasle

[QUOTE="johnny27"]they also enabled developer console hacked in dedicated servers and pirates can play for free on IW.net with paying customers.KHAndAnime
The last one is especially a hardcore blow.

lol so much for iwnet. looks pretty weak to me if they can hack it that quick when you look how hard it is to play online with cracked versions of valve games with people with genuine copies.

Thats one of the thingsI really hate about pc gaming, theres so many damn hackers/cheaters always ruining the experiance online.

ThePRAssassin

You're a PC/360 gamer? I doubt it.

There's probably just as many cheaters and pirates on 360 yet PC still is the only one with the stereotype.

I don't know if that's true but that would explain one of the last matches I had on RSV2 where this guy would always kill me with a headshot in less than a second after seeing me, it was really frustrating.

What's the difference? Infinity Wards sold out a long time ago and have already gave up on PC gamers, the very same people who helped jumpstart the first Call of Duty.

The difference is i still want to play their games, i don't care about anyone else! I was never going to play the multiplayer anyway, i haven't bought it yet, but i'm going too soon.

Id prefer a bad PC port, than no port at all, that applies to any game!

It's not a bad port... it's a ripoff if you compared it to the last installement.

The game is more expensive, short SP, worst MP... common dude, why would you support this game?

you obviously need to learn some manners, i am with the hermits on this, the PC is an open platform, that's the whole point of it,and activision tried to lock it down with this game, where will actision stp? next thing you know they will take away your ability to adjust your graphics settings, and the price? devs don't pay royaltys on PC games, so why is the PC version the same price as consoles? it's something you just don't do,it goes against the grain, PC games are meant to be cheaper than console games, ther was nothing wrong with the status quo and activision are messing it up, on that note though, MW2 is a fantastic game, my mate bought it round and it's definitly an improvement on the first, i am very tempted to break my boycott and get it for 360, especially since the gamestores here actually defied activisions price hike and are offering th game at normal price, at least the gamestores are prepared to take a hit in profits to keep gamers happy, activision should take note

Funny stuff, but this is disgusting, it just shows they put NO effort into the PC version. Hopefully everyone uses these exploits and people stop playing which means less money from DLC.

Most of those guys playing MW2 were confirmed to be a group of trolls.

There are over 500 people in that group, and even with the trolls, there are less than 20 people with the game.

Why would the PC audience boycott it. We're all still playing Battlefield and TF2. COD is under the same genre a Nintendo shovelware to the PC audience.

COD4 sold over 2 million on PC, so the fact that MW2 only sold 1 million proves the boycott did work to an extent.

Poor sales may give the opposite effect, and there simply won't be a PC version next time.

Personaly I would like that, money spent on CODs would be at least partialy spent on games made by other devs, those who actualy care about pcgaming

Unhappy with the fact that the game has no dedicated servers, votekick, voteban, or really any system to deal with cheaters, Hackers figured out a way to get aimbot, speedbot, infinite ammo, and other things in the game in under a week.

I played with an aimbotter yesterday whose name was votekickme. I'm not sure whats more embarassing thinking that matchmaking could work on the pc with no votekick mechanism or having aimbotters in the game in under a week.

They're proving that IWnet is not safe like IW said. They're making a point that if they had dedicated servers they'd be able to ban people who were cheating in ways that they showed.

As a PC and console gamer, really don't understand why PC gamers would refrain from buying MW2 just because it doesn't have dedicated servers. With that said, I'm glad PC guys figured out how to mod MW2:)

As a PC and console gamer, really don't understand why PC gamers would refrain from buying MW2 just because it doesn't have dedicated servers. With that said, I'm glad PC guys figured out how to mod MW2:)

I doubt anyone is refraining from buying MW2 just because it doesn't have dedicated servers.

They bought the game, they gave their money to Activision and IW, but somehow IW got owned? Sure thing...IronBass

Regardless of what you think Infinity Ward does care about the product they make and the product they have their name on. They do want to provide a quality experience, it's just obvious Activision had more say this time in terms of dedicated servers, or IW just didn't care enough about PC gamers.

But this whole thing still shows that not only is IW lazy, but incompetant as well. Sure they got their money, but reputation stays, not everything in the gaming business is dollars and cents. Companies do care about their reputation. I'm sure Pandemic hates that everyone thinks of glitches everytime they think of them because of Mercenaries, but they have to get a game out on time on a fixed budget because EA says so.

IW doesn't want people thinking they don't care about their games and are just in it for the money, obviously people who work there do care about gaming and i'm sure some of the people working there do feel bad that PC gamers got jipped, they just can't do anything about it since it's Activision and the lead designers call.

Actually, this is my own screen, taken today just a few minutes ago:

There is one dude out of 881 currently playing MW2 evidently. Keep in mind this only displays 50 out of the total 881.

[QUOTE="sikanderahmed"]

so the hackers who apprently want to kick cheaters figured out a way to get aimbot, speedbot, infinite ammo and other cheats? makes sense.....

InsaneBasura

They're proving that IWnet is not safe like IW said. They're making a point that if they had dedicated servers they'd be able to ban people who were cheating in ways that they showed.

Hackers gonna hack. Highlighting a problem with IWnet is just a side effect.

That's exactly my point. Hacking is gonna happen regardless of what system you had, but if PC gamers had dedicated servers they'd be able to ban people instantly, instead of waiting weeks for VAC to ban them (if they catch them in the first place).

Ah, I was hoping PC gamers didn't buy the game, resulting in low sales which would have forced ACTIVISION and IW to make their next game on PC much, much better.

I guess the PC audience couldn't boycott it?:(

Are you serious? Go on IW forums and see for yourself. Thats PRECISELY the reason nobody wants it on PC. There are TONS of people who aren't getting MW2 because of that, PC owners who did get the game are now complaining about how bad the matchmaking is and hackers and people who are injecting viruses to other players through matches. I'd bet more money that atleast 75% of the people who did buy MW2 on PC are regretting their purchase.

Imagine if IW took away STANDARD features from the console versions, like clan tags, or trophies/achievements, or rumble, etc. Dedicated servers is a standard feature of PC FPS' and there's literally no reason for it to have been taken away other than cutting costs or laziness.

Evidently you're not familiar with why we want dedicated servers? Let's see, we've got a few reasons here. No kickvotes, no admin bans, no moderation for behavior or exploits, no custom content delivery system, no mods, low pings to catastrophic pings, connection issues, lack of permanence, the destruction of clans and mod communities, no user customization, always have to pub, have to wait for matchmaking, host advantage.... All of that is as a result of IWnet. Add dedicated servers and a server list and.....voila. All of those problems solved instantaneously.

There was at least a 40 page thread that emerged just a few days after the BackandSlash announcement of no dedis from Robert Bowling.... almost every single post was a clan leader or clan member pledging that their clan of 20+ to 200 members wasn't buying MW2 as a result of dedicated servers. And of course the backlash was enormous after the fact.
