INTEL buys Project Offset Developers, the next Crysis is coming

Yep, Intel purchased the dev's of the Offset engine. I would assume that Project Offset will now be the next Crysis, as it's meant to push hardware. I wasn't expecting this at all, I wonder if they have any other plans up their sleeve.

probably both, seeing as how Intel is larger than both Nintendo and Sony Combined, I cant see any reason why they cant do both.

I was expecting Nvidia to be the first one to start buying devs. seeing as how their trademark is already on a lot of games for various reasons....

who knows...maybe Nvidia will buy someone too.....maybe even crytek...that would be the logical guess I suppose.

Its development team is currently only composed of 17 people...and at the time when the first tech demo was shown, they actually only had 3 people on the dev team.

I expect that to change now that they have been picked up by Intel.

Right on! Intel is part of the PC gaming alliance, so they want PC gaming to regain market share from consoles. Since Intel profits from high-end gaming PCs with high-end processors, they will LOVE to a powerful gaming engine :)

No surprise they purchased this, they want to hurt consoles by promoting the PC.

The PC version was always the main platform, this probably means that the game has become a PC exclusive, Intel can make a lot of money if this game pushes hardware the same way crysis did.

What, Intel has no stake in consoles? They were behind the CELL processor.

well unless ms can't get back on good term with intel after intel making million if not billions on the first xbox by not reducing the chip costs which made ms mad at intel

Uhh... this announcement said nothing about the 360. However, it sounds like you are suggesting that the PC version was just announced, when in fact, the PC has always been the main platform for this game.

First off have you played the game??? No. So how do you know it was going to be great. Console version is always broken even if it was a good game you would be getting the downgraded/ruined game while PC gamers get the actual game.

The only way this could actually be a ruined game for us hermits is if they consolised the crap out of it and made it console first and then ported it over PC but thats not going to happen.
