[QUOTE="Verge_6"]

[QUOTE="PS3Fanaddict"] and i added FFv13, and 3 out of 6 is half. Get it? :DPS3Fanaddict

If we're going to be adding games to lists that we didn't compose, then I add Blue Dragon. Oopsie, 3 out 7. And Infinite Undiscovery. My oh my, 3 out of 8. Keep it up, you bundle of joy you.

And even then, you said "half of those games are exclusive to the PS3, AND FFvXIII", meaning, grammatically speaking, that you were referring to those games he listed, and ONLY those games. Grade-school grammatical knowledge, really. Of course, so is spelling out "you" and capitalizing i's in the self-referrential usage.

as long as u get the math right its all good :D

Good, I'll just wait for you to follow suit in the grammatical field, which is the reason why this is even taking place.

condemned 2 is on PS3 :DPS3Fanaddict

And its not on PC. My point still stands.

Dead rising is also coming to PS3Warzone876

Dead Rising 2, the sequel. The original will remain exclusive. And despite my excitement, I am remaining cautiously optimistic, since it isn't the original team working on it.

just wondering would one have any point of having a 360 if they had a pc when alot of 360s games are on the pc. With that said would the best pairing be pc/wii or pc/ps3

"Worthless" eh? No worth. Zero worth. I don't know where to begin on that... Besides, Console gaming sux when compared to PC gaming.

In short, yes. Frankly, all consoles are worthless IMO if you have a gaming PC. More content in the games on PC than any other platform. Will always keep you occupied. But, yes, most of the 360 exclusives aren't exclusives at all. They are usuallynot only on PC but are far superior on PC.

That's probably the best post I've seen in a long while, good work. As to the thread topic, as an owner of both an X360 and a gaming rig I say the 360 definitely has worth. I use my PC for games like Crysis, L4D, Fallout 3, World of Goo, and Zombie Panic Source I use my X360 for games like Halo 3, Gears 2, Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, L&tD, Scene It BOS, not to mention multiplats like GTA4, NHL09, Burnout Paradise, and a plethora of XBLA games. I'd say I get about an equal amount of use out of both of them.

I hated Halo 3, was apathetic about Gears 1 (with no interest in Gears 2) and have absolutely no interest in Fable 2... yet I own a 360 and am more than satisfied with it.

Uh, well...yea, that goes without saying. On two platforms = multiplat...i thought that would be common sense though.

I never said there weren't but it depends on the person and the majority of high rated 360 exclusives are on PC and are superior (same can be said for PS3 as well).

People quote them as the so called "console exclusive". Don't act like you don't know the term.

My point is the majority of high rated games on the 360 are on PC as well. Most of those like L4D, Gears of War, etc. are all on PC as well and are superior on PC. That's all. You sound really defensive. :|

I am not defensive, I am merely combating the notion that exclusive only pertains to consoles. People really do have that notion. When talking about console exclusives, please call them console exclusives. And yes, they are Native Americans, NOT Indians!!! :P

Anyhow, I don't disagree that the multiplats are better, in fact, I think "better" is an understatement. The multiplats are vastly superior on PC. But that doesn't make the 360 "worthless." That is what this thread is about, the 360 being worthless. It has exclusives, not on PC or PS3, that are great depending on your taste. That in an of itself would deem the system with some kind of value. It's not for everyone, I don't even own one, nor do I want one. But it's not worthless.

Isn't worthless to me... As a owner of PC, 360, PS3, and Wii. I've realized there's many unique reasons to own and play each console... So frankly it's not something I need to worry about and if you feel that way, I say don't. :P

Agreed on all points. Though by that definition no platform is worthless though. All one can do is talk about it from their standpoint i guess. :) That's what i was doing. Ironically enough, I own a 360. It's literally onlymy 4th console i've ever owned since 1990 (as i've been a PC gamer since the beg.), that's it, but i do own one. Got the RROD once already. I didn't technically pay for it as it was a "moving out" gift from my parents a few years ago. Needless to say the one exclusive that I do enjoy is Dead Rising (of which Dead Rising 2 isreleasing onPC so there goes the need for it on 360) and i only own 2 games on it.

Much better audio quality in general.

Fantastic audio quality at that. XBL is horrid in comparison.

Not that it really matters that much anyway, Steam and Xfire both have voice chat built right in, and essentially every game / mod has voice support right out. Although yeah its not nearly as good as Ventrilo's.

Which was kinda my point. Having more than one VoIP system for a given purpose kinda defeats Metcalfe's Law, ya know?

Having it built into the game itself is fine (although it's a waste of programming time writing something that could be done perfectly well in a system library). It's when you have multiple external systems that you end up having to coordinate VoIP apps and servers. It's work that the gamer simply shouldn't have to do - the game already knows who you're playing with, so it should take care of it for me.

That said, there's still no unified identity management on PCs. How does one know that Lowe0 on Steam is the same person as Lowe0 on GfW Live? How does one invite someone playing a Steam game to play a non-Steam game; what if they don't even have Steam? Conversely, if they want to block or mute someone, how do they do it once and have it also apply on Steam/Live/Xfire/any single-game identity manager?

Yes, it's really hard to manage one program... All you need is ventrilo or teamspeak... I never said you needed both.

I'm sorry, you might think because it's in the API that it's better or simpler... But option and quality wise it's not, and I don't see how hard it can be to manage one 3rd party program.

PC gaming is clearly superior but that doesn't mean the 360 is worthless lol. Unfortunately cheap gaming aka console gaming will always be popular so its the only way I can play with some of my friends. Obviously I would have preferred if they all had high end pc's.

I guess you haven't use a 3rd party program that's better then Microsoft before? There's so many option from both teamspeak and ventrilo... if you want a list of options i'd sugest you look into it yourself as it will explain to you even better then I can.

Which was kinda my point. Having more than one VoIP system for a given purpose kinda defeats Metcalfe's Law, ya know?

Because you're not just managing one program. Not everyone uses the same one.

*snorts* I don't see any monthly fee for Steam. :x

in terms of quality.

like what? steam has more content, group chat/voice chat, ingame web browser, dedicated servers, friends list, stats for each game auto auto updates plus full retail games for sale and many features all for free.

Suppose your friend is using one system, but when you join a server, you're put on a team with people using a different system. What now?

While I'd certainly be happy if I could play every match exclusively against my friends instead of randoms, I doubt I could get 15 of my friends to make time to play a game at the exact same time. As such, I'm inevitably going to wind up on a team with someone using a chat system other than the one I'm using. If my teammate's on Ventrilo and I'm on in-game VoIP, how am I supposed to communicate with them - smoke signals? Carrier pigeons?

[QUOTE="PrinceofSarcasm"]

just wondering would one have any point of having a 360 if they had a pc when alot of 360s games are on the pc. With that said would the best pairing be pc/wii or pc/ps3

obamanian

There is a point, all the game PC does not get, the ease of use, no frustration, buying new OS, Video cards, patches for game breaking bugs and incompatibilities etc etc

In fact, since 360 gets all the PC games i need and boubles that wityh its own exclusives i would never miss, it is 100% worthless for me having a PC when i can have a 360 for 1/5 the price

your opinion there is no game on x360 that interests me, plus a 2006 pc still completely destroys x360 now and always will. 8800gts/gtx 2gb ram athlon 4800x2 or 3800x2 is way better than x360 and is from 2006. new os what game doesn't run on xp? video card? 8800gts 3x the performance of x360 patches? x360 has them to and steam makes them automatic

Then just use the server which can be accessed by teamspeak or ventrilo?
