I've always maintained that CDPR is one of most overrated developers, probably second only Rockstar. Witcher 3 is one of the most overrated games of the generation.
CDPR is by far the most overrated game developer in the world.
They're good, but they are not Kojima Productions, Naughty God, Valve, Rockstar North, Nintendo EAD good.
@ConanTheStoner: Gotta agree with this. DMC1 is one of my top 10 all time favourite games and DMC5 though not as memorable probably has the single best action combat gameplay of any game, ever. I often use DMC5 as a benchmark for what I want in my action based games but nothing comes close to its depth and just how fun it is lol.
ran through easy, normal, hard, but I got stuck on DMD. Not even going to attempt Hell or Hell..
@ezekiel43: He made Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid V , two of the best games of all time :)
Both better than anything he made prior, which is saying A LOT.
@with_teeth26: You were supposed to name overrated developers.
Not the two greatest video game developers in the world.
The old "what have you done for me recently" axiom. You've got to love studios that people absolutely clamor over hitting a rough patch and watching consumer's reactions. On that note, although I liked The Witcher 3 I have always thought people gave them a little too much credit, but that's not saying they are a bad dev team by any means. Some companies are held to a higher standard for knocking a game or two out of the park and then everything they do from that point is graded against them. I haven't played Cyberpunk (and don't really care to all that much.. although I'm sure I will eventually just for the hell of it) but it is creating the debacle I figured it would.
The game is a masterpiece, best experienced on playstation 5. All you people whining about it not running on your xbox 360's slim, nobody cares.

MGS4 was the worst numbered MGS game until MGSV came out.
Its a pretty competitive field, overrated developers.
Kojima and Naughty Dog would be my picks. (i've felt that way about ND for years, nothing to do with TLOU2)
Bethesda would have been in the conversation but their reputation has really taken a steep dive
This is the way, especially Kojima. Yuck.
Here's what I think happened. I think CDPR knew about the bad performance on PS4 and Xbox One base consoles, lied about it, and released it anyways so they could capitalize and cash in on all the preorder money. Admitting there was a problem or cancelling those versions would have lost them the preorder money. They are liars and thieves, and now they're trying to dig themselves out of the hole they dug for themselves. What a turnaround, what a way to go from a consumer friendly developer to being so bad that you make EA look like a saint.
No, far from it. Their reputation just took a hit, but I think they will somewhat make up for it with those upcoming updates. Kojima is the most overrated game developer in my opinion. The last game I truly enjoyed by him was Metal Gear Solid on PS1.
So much of the gaming industry, and everything in general, is reliant on first impressions. I'm sure they will release a series of patches and improve the game on all platforms, but the damage has been done.
2/2 for me. I've loved both Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk so CDPR have great record imo and have yet to let me down, no problems on series X and barely any bugs for me, I haven't experienced what the drama is about personally. Amazing game and GOTY for me this year. I saw some PS4/XB1 footage though and it looks dog rough.

Yeah, DMC5 is definitely up there for the genre. I don't have a fav anymore really (used to be Ninja Gaiden Black). But I do consider DMC5 up there in the "S tier" among a few others. And if talking pure depth, DMC5 Dante is only 2nd to DMC4 Dante. Though realistically, less than 1% of players even play at a level where that stuff holds them back. Still, DMC5 is an all around better game, my only major gripe being V. Tried my to dig his playstyle, S ranked his stuff, still just not that fun imo.
And yeah, DMD is surprisingly hard. Even SOS is pretty hard in those final few missions. Still haven't tackled 'Heaven Or Hell' or 'Hell And Hell'. Though to be fair, Heaven Or Hell sounds a bit lame anyways. One hit deaths for both player and enemies? No room to style really.
@ConanTheStoner:
For me its DMC 1 > DMC 5 > DMC 3 >>>> DMC4 >>> DMC2 > DMC
And lol dude imagine Hell or Hell... Heaven or Hell = you die from any kind of 1 hit, but also the toughest boss also dies from 1 hit.
Hell or Hell = you're always 1 hit but enemies have the same life as they do in SoS or DMD...
My friend play as completed each Soulsborne game 4-5 times and Sekiro 9 times, but he couldn't get past the first few missions of Hell or Hell DMC5.
I feel really bad for the people at the company who've put lots of time and effort into creating something that is almost awesome. They just need more time to tweak IMO. The game should be released around Feb, but management didn't want another delay so they rushed it out.
