Your right, the sales prove it, they rise each year so they know what they are doing and what people want. From a business standpoint they are pretty smart.

No, the only bad thing you can accuse CoD for is milkage.

I don't get that; by now people know what to expect from Call of Duty and to expect it to be a yearly franchise - and the sales numbers reflect that people are okay with that. I think you're underestimating the consumer if you think they're being tricked.Ravensmash

They're selling you the same thing year after year. People expect it, hype it because they know they're about to buy the same game they played last year, two years ago and in 2007. I don't think they're being tricked though, if you don't see Activision's giving you the same game every year it's no one's fault. I just think that there are far better games out there.

Naw bro. I don't mind. People buy whatever they want. I stick to other games. IMO, I would like to see Activision and Treyarch to try something else but hey, who am I to say anything? LOL.

It's comparable to a stubborn cold, it's annoying as f*k, but not everyone catches it. The bubonic plague though, now that's what trully is obliterating gaming (casualization of established franchises, older example Rainbow Six, recent example Ninja Gaiden).

Syndicate (I'm a sci-fi geek so it was my style)

BF3

CoD Black Ops (the only CoD game I enjoyed, loved the vietnam/cold war setting)

So out of the 5 I've enjoyed (I've pretty much played every fps this gen except maybe 7 ish) only one of them is a CoD game, not saying their overrated just saying you can get into FPS that aren't CoD.

Casual games and casulization of the game industry is worst thing thats happened.

This gen has exploded with many casual games catered to non-gamer crowds.

I think we need an anti hipster clause in the Terms of Use so we don't get anymore "this game is popular, therefore I will force my opinions down everyone's throats" type threads here.

Somehow I find them more annoying then when its some fanboy rallying against a system exclusive. Maybe because in this case I feel like there is even less reason to be so retardedly against a game.

How so? If you don't enjoy COD even though +20 million other people do, simply ignore the series. That's what I do.

People are buying these games, so Activision must be doing something right.
