no.... I would say XBL myself. And COD is a very good game. COD1,UO,COD2, and COD4 are all great games.
You do, because a lot of people find enjoyment from it.I dont think i need to explain this one......

And?[QUOTE="eboyishere"]No, yea the series is milkage but most if not all companies have thought to the same with their games. Activision just did it first. Next gen someone will out do them tho.RavensmashActivision are only giving the consumers what they want. Good for them. And I'm being serious.
They're doing the same thing Apple's doing. People fall for it. They win in the end.

Your right, the sales prove it, they rise each year so they know what they are doing and what people want. From a business standpoint they are pretty smart.
No, the only bad thing you can accuse CoD for is milkage.
Plenty of other franchises have been milked.

I don't get that; by now people know what to expect from Call of Duty and to expect it to be a yearly franchise - and the sales numbers reflect that people are okay with that. I think you're underestimating the consumer if you think they're being tricked.[QUOTE="DeadMan1290"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"] You do, because a lot of people find enjoyment from it.Ravensmash

And?That's what I think TCs trying to point out... The fact that any little kid can play CoD and ignore other MUCH better games hence why we're getting crappy games lately..

I don't see the problem with that, nor do I think we're getting crappy games when there is so much variety out there.I don't get that; by now people know what to expect from Call of Duty and to expect it to be a yearly franchise - and the sales numbers reflect that people are okay with that. They're selling you the same thing year after year. People expect it, hype it because they know they're about to buy the same game they played last year, two years ago and in 2007. I don't think they're being tricked though, if you don't see Activision's giving you the same game every year it's no one's fault. I just think that there are far better games out there.

because it's fast paced and easy to pick up, thats why they use the tagline "there is a soldier in all of us"

But that's what I'm saying :P If you don't want COD, then don't buy it - but don't complain about others and their purchasing decisions :)I still think the shooting mechanics are top notch.Nope, they're good games; re-hashes with little upgrading, but they're still good games.

I stick to other games. IMO, I would like to see Activision and Treyarch to try something else but hey, who am I to say anything? LOL.
[QUOTE="WreckEm711"]I still think the shooting mechanics are top notch. They're top notch, and most of all, they're fun to play. I largely despise first person shooters, but Call of Duty games, especially the Treyarch ones, are absolutely irresistible for me.Nope, they're good games; re-hashes with little upgrading, but they're still good games.

No it's not, considering it's produced great additional content for titles that would have otherwise been left, or had to have had a retail release for larger expansions.DLC is by far the worst thing that has happened to gaming.

It's comparable to a stubborn cold, it's annoying as f*k, but not everyone catches it. The bubonic plague though, now that's what trully is obliterating gaming (casualization of established franchises, older example Rainbow Six, recent example Ninja Gaiden).
I wouldn't say casualization of established franchises is. the majority of consumers don't want old Rainbow Six - it'd be more detrimental for the publishers/developers if they didn't cater to the tastes of a wider audience. That's not to say other games can't be deep or whatever, but I fully understand why it's decided upon :PIt's comparable to a stubborn cold, it's annoying as f*k, but not everyone catches it. I agree with everything in red.
No, didn't you get the memo? Cows have decreed MS, XBL, and DLC (which was created by MS) is the worst thing to happen to gaming. LOL. -5 points for not keeping up to date on Cow Law.
More like the best thing to happen in gaming.. if it wasnt for CoD i probably wouldnt have played any FPS this gen

The only FPS I've enjoyed this gen are
L4D (valves only great game in my eyes)
Bulletstorm
Syndicate (I'm a sci-fi geek so it was my style)
BF3
CoD Black Ops (the only CoD game I enjoyed, loved the vietnam/cold war setting)
So out of the 5 I've enjoyed (I've pretty much played every fps this gen except maybe 7 ish) only one of them is a CoD game, not saying their overrated just saying you can get into FPS that aren't CoD.
I think we need an anti hipster clause in the Terms of Use so we don't get anymore "this game is popular, therefore I will force my opinions down everyone's throats" type threads here.
Somehow I find them more annoying then when its some fanboy rallying against a system exclusive. Maybe because in this case I feel like there is even less reason to be so retardedly against a game.
It's fun, why do so many people pull a hipster when it comes ot games?
TopTierHustler
BECUZ TEH BIG COMPANIES ARE GREEDY AND BIG GAMES ARE BAD! COD IS BAD! SKYRIM IS BAD! MASS EFFECT IS BAD! GRAND THEFT AUTO IS BAD!
Is the mindset of these guys. Popular = bad in the mind of a hipster, because apparently they live in Bizarro world.
