Is Dead Rising 3 flop on PC (3.0 on GS)?

Read the review, the guy simply hated it more than the first review.

Yeah, hi!! I love the DR games. 2 was so much fun with buddies in the barracks. Flashlight and gems combo was epic. I was looking to play it because I like the games. Are they GOTY ooohh gaming can be teh art? No, but they are funny and fun.

The reviewer either doesn't like/get DR games in general, or he just wanted to be a special snowflake and get all the clicks. Either way, I just couldn't connect his little nitpicks and Harry Potter references to the abysmal score usually only given to games that just don't work. The guy is a hack, pure and simple.

So, I'm not the only one that found that annoying.

How does this review=PS4 is the only hope for DR3? The reviewer would still hate the game on PS4 because he disliked the actual content of the game

I'm I big fan of dead rising and while the game didn't live up to the other two mainline games it was still pretty fun. Now that I finally have both next gen consoles, I can say with confidence that dead rising was better than all of the ps4's first party launch games.

I have been playing it on PC, can't really see why it would get a 3.0, though I would not give it higher than a 7.0 at best.

Just don't really understand how this got through the editorial process tbh. It seems really out of place with GS's other scores. You need to have a degree of consistancy with your reviews and its pretty clear that this isn't on the same path. Having read the review it almost feels like someone is trying to troll the whole gamersgate thing ....

Well it's 71 percent on gamerankings , which takes all major review sites scores on a game and takes an average, it's based on 12 reviews for now.

If you would take away the 3 and replace it with a 7 it would certainly go up a few percents. But even with that 3 it still gets 71.

Conclusion: this reviewer shouldn't be reviewing any games.

If you check the steam boards a good portion of those people are ether trolling or don't even have the game (you can check if they even have the game in their profile or by that mouse icon by their name).

I loved DR3 and spent around 20 hours playing it before I beat it (loved it a lot more than the previous DR games). Outside of a few fps issues I had no problems with the game on high settings with my setup

Isn't GS the same website that hired a freelance reviewer that made a terrible review for Natural Selection 2? and it was also based on things that weren't even part of the game at all?

One of the worst written reviews I've read in a long time, and I've read GamingBolt reviews.

@blue_hazy_basic: The guy is a freelancer, so there can be two things:

1. Editors wanted to give him a chance, and they tolerated the subjective nature of his review, so people could remember him for.
2. Editors didn't give a shit about the PC version.

Dead Rising 3 was one of the better launch titles. Kinda sucks the PC couldn't do it any justice. I wonder if Ryse will be next. I still need to pick up that hyper remix DLC for DR3 too. I think that DLC scored higher than the PC version of DR3.

sorry it's not the definite version. the latest review on the game just means that GS regret giving it a 7.0. The 3.0 sounds like about right. Lemmings been playing crappy games this gen especially Ryse the game they kept on defending as 'fun'. It's as repetitive as Dead Rising 3.

Nick is actually an excellent writer and he is able to create some great analogies to bring readers into and out of reviews. He's has a powerful vocabulary and is able to structure sentences to near perfection. He takes his reviews very seriously.

Remember reviews are just opinions for the most part, and you know what they say about opinions and arseholes.

This is why you should not trust one persons opinion, I mean I think it's shit and don't like it but i can kinda see why someone else might like it.

I thought broken games get these kind of scores, not game that touch you psychological past.

SJW back in action I see.... Gamespot dumps what I think is one of the worst decisions in their review arsenal ( I don't own the website so I can't speak in certainty)
And they bring it right back in..... how this passed gamespots code of reviews is really beyond me. The review is an absolute joke.

The game is a ton of fun to me, easily an 8/10 . They really should get people at least interested in the type of game to review it, or get multiple opinions.

The game is far from being mediocre. How many games like this are out there? Just plain old zombie slaying with ridiculous weapons and outfits?

A bad port is in most cases still better than the console counterpart.

Hopefully crackr doesn't mind me giving some context, Nick used to write for a site he co-founded (and I write for as well) so we are more familiar with his work, he is not the kind of guy to slam a game for shits and giggles, he just uses the full 0-10 scale for scoring games which not a lot of reviewers do these days, and he also from what I have seen looks at games out of the context of their hype etc. to come up with scores which is why the often vary wildly from average critic scores.

If DR3 is anything like DR2 than I can understand someone giving it a 3, I thought DR2 was garbage.

Read the review? I'd like to see how much of DR3 he has played.

GS should do some quality control on their reviews. This "opinion" isn't just shit, it's annoying to even read through.

and not sure how GS can justify giving two such varied scores for the X1 vs PC version.
