Also comparing it to Uncharted 2, halo has a lot more replay-abilty and forge, while uncharted 2 has better graphics, story and voice acting. So why are people saying halo is bad when all games have strong and weak points?

Just the slow matchmaking alone would have knocked down the score if it was released after COD4.Next-Gen-TecOh please, how many games in COD4 are ruined by Connection Interrupted or server disconnections, not to mention the amount of time wasted going back to party lobbies to pick up friends because they couldn't get in the lobby. COD4's lobby system was horrid.
Just the slow matchmaking alone would have knocked down the score if it was released after COD4.Next-Gen-TecSlow? The most I've ever waited is a minute, maybe two. Now CoD4, ugh. I've dropped out of so many games because an annonymous host drops out or the server time goes out or something, and it lags like nuts sometimes.
[QUOTE="dgsag"]Of course it is, but I still found it a solid console shooter which simply felt the most polished and refined out of the three games in the series when I played it at my friend's house. A solid 8.5-9.0-Sniper99-I agree. It's a good game, but the way some people praise it. It's a little above mediocre to me.
this man speaks the truth
9.5 was the perfect score for this game when it came out. Sure, if it came out today, it wouldn't be rated as high, but it's 2 years later =SJandurin
yes it would. ODST proves that.
ODST is better than Halo 3, so.I actually agree. I believe Halo 3 was an excellent game, but the single-player was too damn short for something of an epic scale as finishing the fight. It was still great (the single-player), but ODST really blew me away. It was fresh, unique, hella' fun, and I found the Mombassa levels to be as atmospheric and gorgeous as the Metroid Prime games. That's saying something.I thought it was overrated, the shooter i would got on XBOX would be gears.\
And COD beats Halo
Ill be laughing at that for a while
Overated Games dont get good reviews everywhere AND sell over 10 million copies.

halo 3 is NOT overrated. it has so many unique features like forge and theater, the ability to rewatch ur game. it has many multiplayer types like infection and oddball. I just dont get why ppl say it is overrated. it got many good scores, so go away ps3 fanboys.

Indeed.
I feel like most of these people who vote yes have probably never played it before.
You think the only people saying Halo is overrated is PS3 fanboys? Whoa.halo 3 is NOT overrated. it has so many unique features like forge and theater, the ability to rewatch ur game. it has many multiplayer types like infection and oddball. Yeah. Lets not leave out the PC gamers ;)
And yeah, there are some 360 gamers who don't care for Halo, but they would be among the smallest platform group to be anti-halo.
Yes, other FPS like KZ2 make it look like a joke.djsifer01Does Killzone 2 have a plausible story, likeable characters, a fresh and unique soundtrack, a map editor, the ability to record you own gameplay, and 4-player co-op?
I'm a long time halo fan, and a hardcore halo 2 multiplayer vet. While I found the halo 3campaign a very thrilling one, especially played with friends online, I personally cannot stand Halo 3 multiplayer at all. I still can't quite put my finger on what it is, but i went from loving halo multiplayer in 2 to literally hating it in 3.
I think it's excellent, but more because of the multiplayer. The single player was very good, but a bit of a let down.

Does Halo have a plausible story and likeable characters??? NO! And furthermore, who cares? MC is no easier to love than the main characters of Killzone, but I don't fault either one for that. FPS's, even the epic ones, rely much more heavily on pacing, atmosphere, level design, AI and beautiful worlds to keep the player engaged than they do on real character development and storyline.
Killzone has an awesome soundtrack, by the way. I'll give you the map editor, but does recording your gameplay really matter? I've owned H3 from Day 1 and never used it.

Actually, yes it does have a plausible story. Plausible in a sense that it's not totally generic and rehashed, for lack of a better word. Likeable characters, yes, see Sgt. Johnson, Captain Keyes, Buck, The Arbiter, etc. The Halo games also excell in pacing, level design, atmosphere, and especially AI. That, plus great story and characters should count for something. Also, recording gameplay is not necassarily a tool I myself use, but I very indirctly benefit from it, as nearly all my favorite machinimas are filmed using Theater mode, one of the reasons machinima is best done on Halo 3 (save for Half-Life 2 with Garry's Mod and stuff). Also, I said "fresh and unique sountrack", not just awesome. It can certainly be awesome if it pleases your ear, but to me it sounds like the same kind of overblown music you hear in action movie trailers. Also, 4-player co-op? Anyway, I'm not saying Killzone 2 is a bad game, I'm sure it's excellent looking at the fan feedback and reviews, I'm merely saying Halo 3 isn't a joke, and much less so compared to Killzone 2.I don't dislike either, but I know what you mean. After playing each for so long, you can sense those subtle differences, but you can't really identify them...I'm a long time halo fan, and a hardcore halo 2 multiplayer vet. I do find Halo very weak in terms of story however, and the characters maybe moderately interesting. But again, it's just not about those elements...
I think Killzone has a better overall single-player game, but just a little better... I really think that when it comes to games at this level of greatness, it's more about personal interest than anything really concrete.

Sgt. Johnson, Cortana, and the Arbiter are very likeable charcters. And that's the way it is with most action games played in the 1st person perspective where you seldom see the character you play. It's the supporting NPCs which drive the story. Same with Half Life 2 where it's Alyx and Eli Vance, and the G Man who serve that purpose.
Perhaps "plausible" wasn't the most suitable choice of words as far as the story goes, considering this is science fiction. But does Halo have a compelling story? Yes it does; about the struggle to not only combat the onslaught of a hostile force, but also prevent their religious crusade, fueled by a theological misconception of ancient relics they don't understand, from anihhiliating every living thing in the galaxy, including themselves. Add in elements of derelict ancient weapons from an extinct civilization that has ties to both sides of the war and the threat of a parasitic lifeform that acts as a contageon, and you have a more unique story than most give the Halo series credit for.

Cool, dude. :) Again, I just wanted to make it clear that Halo is NO joke. I actually really liked the story, but that's a matter of preference. Glad you enjoyed both.[QUOTE="rpawloski2458"]

far out man killzone 2 is good but it has no charectar. Its trying to be a big MANLY game by being all black and red. The charectars themselves are boring. Halo 3 makes KZ2 look like an overused joke
Gee, I wonder how the cows voted...-GeordiLaForge-
Question is really just haters vs fans.
Lems barely bring up Halo anymore, only the cows do to bash it, or claim it's all MS has, blah blah blah./
Overrated? How does one judge if a game is overrated? A game with such high critical acclaim. Not to mention commercial acclaim, and the fact it's the most played console exclusive to date.
How can it be overrated when it ticks ALL the boxes, for a successful game?
