Meaning, can it still pull in the type of numbers the franchise has had before? It seems like there is a lot of uncertainty due to Bungie not being on the project and the more recent leaks that show some controversial changes to the series (i.e., aim down sites, sprinting). As someone who hasn't played Halo until getting my hands on MCC, I'm interested to see what direction it will go. Playing the first one so far and it's a blast.

Nope. 343i's shambolic handling of Halo 4 and the MCC have damaged the brand. There will always be that contingent of insane Halodrones who will always lick up every shitty crumb, but it reached peak relevance with Halo 3 and declined ever since. When Game Informer don't put it in their most anticipated of 2015 list, you know something's gone wrong.
Halo 3 was and still is the best multiplayer game on 360, and continues on being the best multiplayer game on consoles........................heard too much bad stuff about the Collection.

The Library is one thing, but people forget all the lame copy n pasted corridors in Assault on the Control Room and Guilty Spark. Not to mention how fucking lousy two betrayels is for being Assault on the Control Room, backwards, with the shitty flood. Keyes sucks up until the black elites show up, etc.
Fun game, and probably the best plot that series ever told (because the future games take themselves way too seriously), but great? eh It's frankly outclassed by better PC Shooters that came out then and after, not to mention stuff like Riddick and Metroid Prime.

yeah some levels like that flood one are horrible but i really like the narrative and the gameplay was great for its time and still hold up great. it was probably the first fps i really liked, used to play doom/duke nukem 3d back in the day but never really enjoyed them. ive still not played any metroid game yet, im going to upgrade my pc and play them with dolphin when i get around to it.

After Halo 4 I'm not to sure. Nostalgia can drive the sales of Halo MCC but 343 has a lot prove with Halo 5 if it's going to be a big success. Then again, the Xbox One's lack of exclusive titles may work in Halo 5's advantage sales wise.

try reading again you clown. I said name a bigger Sci-fi FPS, he answered with "COD:AW if it counts", for a start i wouldn't class it as science fiction. Halo is a bigger franchise, it has books, comics, toys, plenty more going for it than COD, which is going the guitar hero route very soon IMO.
