The only point in owning either the PS4 or XB1 at this point is if you don't have a PC capable of running the multiplats, and/or you are interested in the tiny selection of quality exclusives on either platform, and/or your friends all have the platform and want to play online with you.
WRONG!
PS4 actually has games worth owning the system for that aren't coming to PC.To name a few...yeah the list goes on.
XB1 doesn't have exclusives anymore since they are all being released on PC so your post only applies to xbox one. Nice try at trying to lump PS4 in with with xbox one but no dice, it doesn't work out.
I'm laughing at the inclusion of The Last Guardian... but please read what I wrote again and take note of the sentence after the one you highlighted.
If Person X has a PC capable of running modern multiplats, neither the XB1 nor the PS4 is worth purchasing if they aren't interested in the exclusives and don't have friends on those platforms they want to play with. If Person Y is interested in the PS4's exclusives, then it would be worth purchasing. If Person Z is interested in the XB1's exclusives, it would also be worth purchasing.
My original statement cannot be taken piecemeal. Each one of those parts is a qualifier for the other. Yes, I "and/or"d them all, but really, in what world would someone who wasn't interested in exclusives, but was interested in multiplats, not also have friends who own the console they choose? Those kinds of people are those who buy a Xbox or PlayStation for Call of Duty and Battlefield.
Both the PS4 and XB1 are lacklustre in the exclusive department this generation, significantly, compared to last generation. Anyone who is not wearing rose-tinted goggles should be able to admit that. Even Nintendo's devastatingly poor commercial performance trounces all over them in the first-party department.
