Is a port and doesn't count as an exclusive, was decided awhile ago in a big thread.spinecaton
oh i c. I didn't know it was settled already. thanks
It's a port... ish. They revamped the graphics a bit (although the water now looks horrible for some reason), added Rachel as a playable character, re-did a few cutscenes using the new graphics engine, added the ability to dual wield katanas, put in some SixAxis support and slotted some new levels into the main game. So even if you've already played it, there is actually a fair amount of new stuff.
It's a remake.VGobbsesser
It's a touched up port. They didn't completely remake the game: for example Resident Evil on the GC is a remake.
It's considered a remake. Not a port. Not an exclusive.dmaximum
It isn't a remake, they didn't do everything from scratch. A remake would be like Final Fantasy 7 where they have to completely redo character models and environments. They updated the textures and character models in NGS(not a complete overhaul) then added an expansion onto it.

I thought a remake is what Doom3 was compared to Doom1. Or Prince of Persia XBL compared to Prince of Persia (1989 PC), etc...
Is Sigma that much different than Black that it warrants calling it a remake?

The developer said it is a remake. You say it's not. I said it's a remake because that's what the dev said. Call it what you will, but it's a remake.its defenitely not a port
there is alot of new content rachel missions, new missions in general, new enemies/bosses, 1080i graphics (they look great) new weapons...
i mean its not an entierl;y new game, but its not a straight port by any means..
tidus222
We call that expansion material, besides the 1080i support of course.
It's somewhere between remake and port - as it's been some time since the game came out, but it's not a complete remake. Other than the graphics, which were perfectly fine as is anyway.
But it was decided overall that it is NOT AN EXCLUSIVE. So AAA or not, it won't be an exclusive for Cows. I think the next one is Singstar, right?

" I can assure you that when Sigma comes out it will be the best looking action game on the market. And yes, all the textures will be completely redone."
Yosuke Hayashi disagrees with you.
Not exclusive.
Jade Empire was remade into a Special Edition for the PC, and even with the content, it's still a multiplatform game. This is like calling Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES an exclusive over the Genesis' Street Fighter 2 : Special Champion Edition.
LMAO at the lemmings in this topic
i remember when the GTA double pack went to xbox after like3 years on ps2, and lemmings couldnt shutup about custom soundtracks, and enhanced graphics....
now when superior version of NG is on ps3 they say "ITS JUST TEH PORTZORZ"
lemmings are just mad the ps3 is starting to get good games

I didn't know a game was only made of textures.
iDid you see what I highlighted in the post I quoted? He said that the textures werent redone. I just simply proved him wrong.
But in all fairness, does it truly matter? Ninja Gaiden looked fine as it was - the new graphical touches, unless you have a large TV, won't make a great noticeable difference. This game has been released twice already in the last few years alone. And SW itself decided that, taking that into account, it wasn't a new exclusive game.
My advice to cows is to get themselves an Xbox or Xbox 360 and play the original Ninja Gaiden or Ninja Gaiden Black instead. Stick it to Team Ninja to stop remaking their games and start making new ones, and no, we'd rather not have another Xtreme game.
[QUOTE="TekkenMaster606"]Not exclusive.
Forza_2
It is exclusive. For those who never played NG before will not think twice before buying this game.
But I doubt many people who played Black a lot will be excited for this one...
the Irony... I spent 600$ and 6-7 months later I'm playing a Semi Sup up 4 year old Xbox game... Sigh.
:( I've played NG and NGB to death.

It's not exclusive like RE4 for Wii.the Irony... I spent 600$ and 6-7 months later I'm playing a Semi Sup up 4 year old Xbox game... Sigh.

It's gonna be great for those who never played it and it's good to see that Team Ninja is bringing it over to the PS3...
BUT, they made a big mistake releasing it too early.

Thats stupid advice. If we already have a ps3 and have access to an enhanced NG, why the hell would we a buy a 360 and then get NGB? The graphical "touches" do make a very noticeable difference, so stop whining.
I've never played Ninja Gaiden before. Well, I've played the arcade and NES versions, but still. NGS is not exclusive. While I don't consider it a straight port or anything the CORE game is still available on the original Xbox.
Not exclusive.
Yeah, sorry - it is stupid advice. Still, many gamers have already played this one - twice. Its a shame that the talent it took to create this game was wasted instead of making a new title.Thats stupid advice. And I mean it though, I'm sick of Team Ninja whoring the same game a third time round rather than making something new. And no, we don't want another Xtreme.
For PS3 owners who haven't yet played the game, than this is a good option. All others, avert and await the next Ninja Gaiden. We've waited long enough.
[QUOTE="TekkenMaster606"] but there are some exclusives coming up that cows should be hyping and discussing. Uncharted. Lair. Heavenly Sword. And even Killzone 2. Forza_2
Why should people hype Killzone 2 again ?
because it's a NEW game? not some 4 year old triple port of an existing xbox game?

I have no idea. I would think that they would at least wait to sae some game footage before blindly hyping the sequel to a terrible game like KillZone. It's like hyping Hour of Vicotry 2.Please Log In to post.
