Is the ps3 becoming the system to own right now

i had a 360 for the last 3 years. I'm mainly just a gamer and was perfectly happy with it for hte most part. I like the controller and the exclusives but at the same time there hasnt been anything come out for it exclusively i really wanted to play recently. I really wanted a few games that came out for the ps3. I sold my 360 and got a ps3. 2 consoles imo is a bit much for me and i like to just have one to mess with and my pc. Been going back and forth though. I spent more money doing this and not sure if it was worth it.

One issue i have with the ps3 is multiplats still look better on the 360 but as far as games i want to be playing right now the ps3 fits. But i usually do this each gen and i like to have the best console going forward. I had the 360 the 1st 3 years and i think it was the best console. I feel like teh ps3 is becoming that. If it is going forward i'll be happy. i'm just not sure if i made the right decision. last gen it was really easy owning a ps2 adn then the xbox. i did the same thing. but the ps3 and 360 are much closer this time around. I try to guage this each gen though and when the tide is turning and i feel like ti was time?

IMO, yes, it is. I got mine in December of last year, and I love it. I recently picked up a PS2 slim for $99, and I feel like I have almost every game I could ever want with just those two systems. Once I get a Wii and have access to Wii and GCN games, my collection will be pretty much complete as far as consoles go.

The PS3 provides the gamer with the best interactive experience you can get out of a console. Blu-Ray (Region-Free), Wi-Fi, Web Browser, Memory Card slots to import/export various files plus an awesome lineup of games that the competition wishes they could match. And to top it all off, PSN is free! If you don't have a PS3, you are simply failing at life.RockytopPS3

Man, the way you rep that list I find it funny that I'm still not compelled to buy one. Well, the PSN PS1 games actually call me but other than that.......................not much there.

no not a big halo fool. i liked halo but wasnt the end all be all or one of my favorite games by any means. i dont like first person shooters at all really. i got it for the show 09. I Also really like motorstorm pacific rift so far. i'll probably pick up mgsiv and gow3. games on the 360 i liked were mass effect, fallout 3, alan wake i will probably miss. i liked fable 2. surprisingly there werent a ton. was never really a big gears person or halo. im also not that big on killzone 2 surprisingly. i like adventure games, rpgs, sports games and a fun racing game every once in a while. I'll probably pick up uncharted 2, mgsiv and i love the show 09 so far and motorstorm pacific rift is mindless fun online.

i'm an oldschool gamer for the most part, but i never really liked first person shooters or jrpgs. what i like are adventure games, western rpgs, sports games, mindless racing games and a good strategy game like starcraft or civilization is good with me.... so for consoles and games in general my choices are pretty slim down. thats pretty much sports games, mass effect, alan wake, fable, white knight chronicles looks pretty good, uncharted 2, mgsiv i might be able to stand, motorstorm, pure, grand turismo instead of project gotham racing is cool, fallout 3, oblivion. GTA IV. i liked civ revolution for about 3 days when i rented it. dead rising was pretty fun. so for me i get the ps3, the show, and a few other games to choose from. if i kept my 360 id still have sports games and id have mass effect 2 and alan wake. on the pc i play wow, and i will play diablo 3 and starcraft 2. i liked gta iv and fallout 3 a ton but i can play those on both, although i heard fallout 3 got the short end of the stick on the ps3.....

PS2 also outsold the 360 for two consecutive weeks in Japan, and I believe at least one if not both of those weeks were before the price cut. XD

Will have to say no i bought a ps3 about 4 months ago and all i really play on it is blu ray films and warhawk. The 360 is alot better imo.Duckyindiana

Depends on what you like, i like RPG's mainly, so i would buy a 360 first 100%, my PS3 is just a back up system that gets FF13vs, that is how i see it right now, it has almost nothing to offer to me

Wow, are people actually bragging about 6 weeks of selling okay? Its sad that in 3 months, people will brag about PS3 victoy when its still behind the wii YTD in Japan with its biggest games for the entire year until FF 13 and are acting like the 360 ever stood a chance in Japan. I have to say i have switched from my wii to my 360 now im playing my ps3 like crazy. The difference is i think i dont think i will get tired of the ps3 like i did the other systems. there is just soo much it has to offer. I am right now working on the Playstation Home XI thing. It is awesome!! Im waiting for infamous and MAG right now also

WOW you mean the ps2 is beating the 360 in japan? oh my god! you mean a place where the ps2 has even more games, has been out for who knows how long, recently had a price drop, and is made by a japanese company? wow its just hard to believe could it be....A sign....Of the end times?

Ps2 with all that beating a system made by an american company, has no where near as many games or the games japanese gamers like and historically the systems previous iteration sold badly in japan... my oh my.

Oh and actually how i worded it dictates that you actually some how believe the ps3 will beat the Wii, let alone the 360. you believe the ps3 will beat the Wii=the Wii is massively out of reach for the ps3. Let alone the 360=it has a better chance of beating this system then the Wii.

P.S: i must add, for such a fervent ps3 fanboy its funny how i have a higher level on ps3 trophies then you do.

I've tried to be nice about the PS3 sales in Japan thus far but for having Street Fighter 4, Yakuza 3, and Resident Evil 5 launch in the realm of a month and a half, those sales are terrible. so just to sumarize this thread cows mock lemmings when they bring up U.S. sales, but then use Japanese sales for the past 2 months to prove ownage that the PS3 is starting to sell like crack. This is all while the 360 outsells the PS3 by healthy margins in Europe aswell. When NPD numbers get released in a couple weeks its gonna be some interesting damage control considering how the PS3 is dominating sooo much.
