Do you want a rational assessment? Here's my try, and I do own a wii.
It is not the saviour of gaming, and its not even radically different gaming. There seem to be some limitations to the the wiimote's functionality as well> it tends to lose precision towards the edges of the screen. Also, its hard to tell, but it seems that the motion sensing can lose track of itself (but that might be game design). Also, in a lot of games you'll wish you just had a regular controller sometimes, although these games are usually the lower rated ones. (exception, zelda- but i disagree with that)
Having said that, the wii experience is definitely unique in interesting ways. It flat out destroys other consoles in what it can do with minigames, all of which will start each game showing you some freaky way to toss around or otherwise use the wiimote's motion sensing abilities (the prompt screens are greatly exploited in warioware). I feel these games really are just showcases for the different abilities for the wiimote, and its only a matter of time before a full length and unified game takes full advantage of this.
Bottom line- its definitely a risk. MAYBE, it will become something amazing. At the very least, the wii is quirky fun at its best. But..., its GUARENTEED to be lacking in every graphical category, as well as every category concerning computing power and AI. It should be clear by the end of this year if the wii is for real. Dont condemn it on some of the bad launch games (and they all deserve their ratings).
