Is the Wii overrated?

THIS IS NOT FLAME BAIT! I really haven't played much of the Wii and from what I played I thought it was pretty cool, but I only got to play Wii sports. The Wii has gotten immense praise from alot of news publishers, but is this because the Wii is catering to casuals more? I don't know, like I said I haven't played much of the Wii but I plan to buy one in the future regaurdless. This leaves me to ask you ; Is the Wii overrated?

Wario Ware. Its awesome, the main stroy is short, but there is plently more to it then just that.

Wario Ware: uninspired graphics, no real plot, short story, beaten in 1-2 hours, low repaly value.

Don't get me wrong i think Wario Ware is a good game worthy of an 8.5 or so but to give it the score it got is incredibly generous considering its numerous flaws.

All consoles are overrated imho. Right now there aren't any games that interest me so I'm really stuck playing Wii Sports for some time. I can't wait for Super Paper Mario though.

I waited in line for the wii at 4 am every wekk for 5 weeks only to find out it was not worth the 280 bucks I gave for it :(

right now every system is over rated. I got a 360 and I hate it, I dont really enjoy the games on it although I may be the minority on that. What people need to realize is not every system is for them, even though the DS has some great games people still hate it, my Dad hates dvd's I hate Mcdonalds. That doesnt mean they wont be successful. The thing I like about the Wii is they are not getting into a power struggle and they are keeping the price low. And although people might disagree for what you get and if you just want to game its a great choice.

Honestly, I think it is overrated. There are just no major "must buy" titles for it at this time. I thought the same thing with the 360 until Geow came out too.

MY COUSIN HAS THE WII. ITS NOT REALLY OVERRATED, IT WILL JUST WARE OFF IN ABOUT 2 YEARS OR SO. IT WILL PROBABLY BECOME ANOTHER GAMECUBE WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME.

It would be if they were directly competing with Microsoft and Sony,but there not so no i think the wii is it's own thing and is priced accordingly,so no it's not overrated.

Of course it's over-rated, how could it be that succesful with that few good games?

The Wii is overrated. Zelda TP is also overrated. I have been predicting massive returns. I expect to see people trading the Wii for a 360 very soon.Berserker_2

I own a Wii and I believe its overrated. It offers nothing new from last gen besides the controller. To put it in lamens terms.... Wii = GameCube with internet (and no online play yet) and motion stick controller.....seriously.Uptown

Same could be said about the other consoles, Nothin new is offered but pretty graphics

IMO the warioware review was Jeff's very own "well the sheep are pissed at me because of my Twilight Princess review, so I'll just give WarioWare an AAA just to get them off of my back" review
