Actually, there are a lot of reasons to own a 360. Unless one is a hardcore PS fanboy who refuses to play anything else other than Sony products/games. The biggest "cognitive dissonance" of gaming was Sega in the late 1990's releasing the 32X, Saturn and Dreamcast all around the same time and trying to support them all. Clearly the TC doesn't even understand what the term used means.

I'm personally amused to see two mainstream gaming solutions fight over little things, as if they possibly amount to being able to declare superiority over each other. They are both mass produced systems, meant for mainstream audiences. Suggesting one plug and play device is more "hardcore" than the other is ludicrous.

1080i? Because as we know, most console games render at 1920x1080, don't they? That's how silly and pitiful the comparisons are. They are going to make a big deal over one version running interlaced, over progressive, at a resolution neither of them have as standard.

360 is the console with the biggest and according to critics, best library available. Maybe you just hate this gen TC.

As far as Im aware the spreadsheet says that the 360 has more exclusives then the PS3 does.

And while the 360 outside that has a big library shared with the PC; the 360 is a cheap functional alternative.

And then someone will undoubtly say "the PS3 is more powerful, why get a 360" which iscompletely silly to say, Sure the PS3 is marginally more powerful, but then again you can not say that sentence without continue with "Yeah, and you could get a PC which is a generationleap or two above both of them"

So that point is utterly void, since by logic, if one was interrested in the most powerful system, or the one with the biggest exclusive lineup you would Pick the PC.

It does not mean that they like playing on the PC, it does not appeal to everyone, hence the 360 is a really good alternative. It also doubles as a pretty good media center, atleast if you consider its pricing.

Heck Ido not really like the 360 (hermit here :P) But I can see alot of positives with that console. So no the 360 is not a system with nothinggoing for it.

This year it looks as if it has very little in terms of exclusives worth getting, but then againexclusives are pretty overrated this gen, considering just how many games are multiplat this gen, and just how highscoringthey are.

The exclusive games and affordability (a gaming enthusiast would not buy a bottom-basement PC, especially myself, since I want to play all the new games coming out). The PC doesn't have anything like Forza or GT... and they are the type of racers I prefer, I've never found interest in playing the masochistic sims.

Why would any "gamer" NOT own both platforms?

Why would any gamer own both the 360 & a gaming PC, wile the gamer at hand already owns a gaming PC, and a handful of other consoles 'n games to last him he's entire life. Exclusives.. A gamer doesn't need to experience everything (many which could pontentially have alternatives on other systems), just enough to last him a life time. Ease of use can be aplied to PC gaming also, for example, you download off steam or gog.com, install 2-5 minutes, and you're a click a way from experiencing the game, no need to even get off the chair. Ability to rent games, i don't know about that.. you can make somewhat of a conclusion if you want to buy a game or not from demos, previews, reviews, youtube videos, etc., etc. Friends on live is a given for anyone that has friends that playes 360 mainly, but generally speaking what if the person at hand as friends playing on the PC mainly? The point isn't absolute..

I know about exclusives and price. Those are well known points. But i could list many more reasons one would own a PC over a 360..

Btw., just to be on the safe side here, don't start adding ad hominems, people usually do that.. I have no intention of being disrespectful towards anyone.

Only GameSpot scores count here and it got a 9/10 for PS3 and an 8.5/10 for X360.

EDIT: Also, there are 79 critic scores for the Xbox 360 and only 73 critic scores for the PS3 version. If you want a fair comparison, you should only do an average with the reviewers who reviewed both versions.

1st of all, the Harmonix dev did not supply a breakdown and pretty much said "the PS3 is not much stronger" (which still means it is stronger anyway).

2nd of all, your IGN article was posted a YEAR before the PS3 was released, and it was posted when Sony was still going with the boomerang controller. Statistics changed.

I meant ease of use bc you don't have to upgrade. Not to mention I run into more bugs on pc, random crashing and drivers getting corrupted. Also the point of renting is so you can play a game without ever buying it, gamefly ftw.I can also come up with more reasons to own a pc over 360 but that does not negate my points. I was merely giving valid reason why one would prefer a 360 over pc, I for one do not.

Same thing as the Harmonix dev- he didn't supply a breakdown as to why it was/wasn't better.

It's easier to develop for him, that's for sure.
