[QUOTE="Silvereign"][QUOTE="DXGreat1_HGL"][QUOTE="hip-hop-cola"]"iv had my 360 since launch" the 360 grim reaper will be at ur door soon
"its only a 5% chance" that was a year ago, now more have broken :)
"this is just fanboy talk" and all those complaining while on there 4th 360
the 360 is obviously unreliable....but hopefully they will fix it with this new chip, but the old ones should be taken and replaced for free....if there changing the chip then there has to be something wrong, just look at it that way

Thanks for your useless input
Wow denying the failure rate of the 360 your only hurting yourself. Even Lemmings are pissed at MS for this.
I'm not denying the failure rate, I'm denying the fact that every cow wants everyone to think that they are either on their 4th or 5th 360 and all of their friends are. Saying 20% is a major stretch....
Just something to think about, I'll bet you Microsoft does NOT count the defective "refurbished" X360's they send out when someone's X360 craps out. That means those people who say they have had 4 break, honestly I bet Microsoft just counts that as 1 defective unit. It may be why they sit and claim 3-5% is where they stand....who knows. When they completely dodge the question when asked recently it leads me to believe they are worried about the preception of their product.
If it's only a few crazed fanboys claiming X360 has a high failure rate, why would Microsoft extend the warranty for ALL X360's by a year? Seriously, if it's not an issue as a lot of you seem to believe they would NOT be doing anything but count their money all the way to the bank. I don't know what the true failure rate is but if you are to include all the refurb X360's they send out, it can't be 5%...I'm sorry that is an extreme in the opposite direction. 20% might be high, that is getting into the arena that MS with their new warranty would be committing sucide if 1 out of 5 were defective....that's a lot of shipping costs as well ast he cost to repair all the defects.
But I do believe some have gone through multiple consoles because they are getting old defective 360's that were "worked" on by MS. I'm pretty sure a used X360 that has broken before is more likely to break than a brand new X360 right off the assembly line. Thing is MS knows they can't give new consoles as it's too expensive.....but the used consoles don't last long enough.....a bad set of circumstances if you ask me.
