That "website" is the only place that has reported this correct?
does that answer your question....
how could microsoft allow sony to have all the power when it comes to discussing hardware. Why would AMD be that stupid to favour a financial strapped company like Sony over one of the most powerful companies in the world.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at E3, Ilvessuo said: " Obviously we have been developing this game for a while and you can see the comparisons. I would say if you know how to use the platform they are both very powerful. I don't see a benefit over the other with any of the consoles."

"The difference is small, and I don't really need to worry about it," he said, suggesting versions for Xbox One and PS4 won't be dramatically different.

"Of course, the Xbox One isnt to be counted out. We asked Guay how the Xbox One version of Watch_Dogs would be different compared to the PC and PS4 versions of the game, to which he replied that, The Xbox One is a powerful platform, as of now we do not foresee a major difference in on screen result between the PS4 and the Xbox One. Obviously since we are still working on pushing the game on these new consoles, we are still doing R&D."

"We're still very much in the R&D period, that's what I call it, because the hardware is still new," Guay answered. "It's obvious to us that its going to take a little while before we can get to the full power of those machines and harness everything. But, even now we realise that both of them have comparable power, and for us thats good, but everyday it changes almost. Were pushing it and were going to continue doing that until [Watch Dogs] ship date."

Carmack on next-gen console hardware: 'very close,' 'very good'
This guy has been going on for months about how HotChips was going to be the full revelation of the Xbox ONE specs. Stacked 12 GB RAM, 9 TF GPU, GCN 2.0, HSA architecture. Now, at the day of Microsoft's HotChips conference, he suddenly makes a new post saying that Microsoft might not "unveil everything". It's an attempt to save face. I don't think this guy even believes what he's saying. Might just be some attention whore looking for attention.

NVIDIA Keplers support DX11.1 Level 11.0 and DX11.2 (with corresponding Level 11.0 features).
I don't believe a word this guy says based on his blogging history. However, it would make sense that AMD is under some form of a NDA by both Microsoft and Sony (more so Microsoft considering its GPU is the weaker of the two).EXLINK
AMD has already let slip a few times that Xbox One is weaker. Months ago they said that PS4's APU is the most powerful one they've ever made. Then not long ago someone there said PS4 is even more powerful than Xbox One than people think because of hsa or huma or something like that (I forget exactly what it was).
But anyway the ultimate proof that Xbox One is weaker is Microsoft themselves. They've been mum on the specs for a reason. If their box was more powerful they'd be singing it from the treetops.

No news on the Xbox ONE version.
I mean, why are so many 3rd parties showing their games on the PS4? Even EA, which has an exclusive partnership with Microsoft for BF4, is showing the console version on the PS4.
There's a reason, lemmings. Think, but don't hurt your brains too much.
Sometimes it's because they're trying to avoid search engines. Large companies are always actively trying to find leakers within the company, so it's not uncommon for someone who is leaking information to misspell things on purpose, or write in poor grammatical phrases, to avoid being picked up by search crawlers. For example, I could say "GTA V has a secret cow level after the NYC mission," and that might be an easy phrase to find, but if I write "GTAV kow lvl skrit post NYC", it's not likely that can be easily found. That's not always 100% the case in terms of leakers, but it's a common tactic to protect yourself.Who do "insiders" always seem to have the grammar of a hyperactive 11 year old?

Before HotChips: Xbox ONE has 9 TF GPU, GCN 2.0, 12 GB stacked RAM, HSA architecture. It'll be revealed at HotChips!!!
Today (Microsoft's HotChips Conference): Okay, 100% of the info might not be revealed today.

How do people keep falling for this?
Now he's claiming that there's a NDA until Sept. 21st. Watch. He's gonna pull some bullshit that day about how Microsoft doesn't want to harm 3rd parties by ruining PS4 sales and say that Microsoft will never talk about specs.
Then, when the multiplats run vastly superior on the PS4, he's gonna make some bullshit about how Microsoft is forcing devs to withold the extra power on the Xbox ONE.

They both have HSA solutions, although the PS4's setup for it is better. To put it simply, the PS4 uses a system designed by AMD itself modeled after hUMA and what that will eventually end up becoming on AMDs new line of motherboards next year. The just don't call it 1.00 because wouldn't want to declare the tech 1.00 in a non-commercial chipset.
MS also has a HSA reminiscent setup, technically, although its more intricate, far more complicated, and in my opinion, no where near as effective.
This article proves a lot that is going on. Dice claims that console versions of BF4 are vastly different. Which one? Dice won't say. Then Gamescon rolls around and numerous sources are let down by the PS4 version. This article also states the Sony America went "ape sh7t" when they brought a beta showcasing true graphical power of the X1. Also stated is that the X1 is 5TF? We shall see. "Insider: The x1 is more powerful.. and it supports games at 2k and full upscale to 4k some games will support 4k later.. ill let you do the maths :)" This comment also supports a lot. Sony has officially stated that 4k is possible on the PS4 but not for games, only pictures and other media. MS has stated that 4k gaming will be possible on the X1. Now if a console is less powerful, how could this be? The answer, it is more powerful than the PS4. This place is going to explode if all of this comes to be true. Yeah, the PS4 version wasn't up to par with the PC version, but why didn't they show the Xbox ONE version? Shouldn't the logical thing be to show the best version? Any logical person (Hint: Not you) would assume the ONE version is vastly inferior if even BF4, which has an exclusive deal with Microsoft, is being shown on the PS4 rather than the Xbox ONE.
Also, no verified proof that SONY went "ape sh7t".
Neither console is powerful enough to support 4k gaming without looking like a PS1 game. SONY didn't include compatibility because no game will be 4k on the consoles next gen. It's a waste of time trying to make it compatible.

Going from details from VGLeaks, NeoGAF and other sources, Microsoft spent well over $3 billion in R&D, which I'm sure is far more than SONY has spent for R&D for their console. Also, both companies had their internals designed by AMD.
How the hell did SONY end up with the better deal from AMD?

Because MS spent a lot of money on a bad decision: DDR3. They spent a lot making custom hardware; data move engines, the ESRAM, etc., to prop it up. All that time and money for something that shouldn't even be in there because the capability for 8 gigs of GDDR5 became available in 2013. The worst thing about it is the way it gimps the GPU; space on the die that should have went to beefing up the GPU went to the DDR3-aiding custom hardware instead. The whole thing was a cluster**** and in my opinion they should have come to terms with their mistake and bit the bullet: delayed it for a year and redesigned it. Heck, a year's delay would possibly enable them to get Volcanic Islands architecture in there instead and that would give them a clear edge over PS4.

I've heard this 3 billion figure, and its something i've said on this board, but i've always held that the 3 Billion includes all of the costs of the X1 launch, including R & D. The breakdown i've heard is 1 Billion for console R&D (including the 100 mill controller), 1 Bill for marketing, 1 Bill for software development. How did Sony end up with the better deal? Simple, Sony properly researched solutions and came up with a clear cut vision for their silicon fairly early. The biggest hurdle both companies had to tackle was the memory configuration and the answer to this problem would radically change the cost of R&D.
Going by the talk Sony gave on the PS4 architecture, plus what I know internally, I think Sony simply didn't want to be stuck with another piece of tech they'd have to spend tons of money to research and how to utilize effectively, and just wanted the simplest solution possible for game development.
Going with an EDRAM or ESRAM setup would've meant they'd have to research how to effectively put it in an APU chipset, and they were probably scared that the cost of researching that wouldn't yield sufficient profit in the long term unless they could sell it outside of the PS4, a situation Sony faced with the Cell.
"and Xbox One is a 5TF paper beast with optimisation and other new tech will equal to PCs 5TFx2=10TF"
dude.. c'mon now... Â Core i7 3970X + GTX Titan Super Clocked won't get you 10TF

In regards to your "logical person" remark. U guess we will just have to wait and see. That said do think that Sony will be able to offer 64 players online for BF4? Also did some digging. The reason that only the PS4 version was showed is that this is "close" to the retail build. The X1 version would still have to be shown on a X1 spec'd PC. So I don't think it was a decision of "let's show the PS4 version because it looks better". As far as your attempted insult goes, I am here for information and to give my opinion. Things don't always work in fanboys favor, so maybe you should think how your claim sounds as just as illogical. Please Log In to post.
