Is this the new CONSOLE graphics king?

Graphics without knowing what the gameplay is like doesn't say much. Is it like GTA and they're actually controlling that motorcycle in an interactive city? If so, then that is impressive. If it's more like point and click adventure game with QTE, well then it's less so.mr_mozilla

if you bother read up you will find out that the demo shown has nothing to do with the actual game itself including the plot etc.

they only showed one part of the game mechanics and all of a sudden its a interactive dvd or something?

I've been hyping Heavy Rain since Day 1.

It looks awesome, but I'm not going to hype its graphics. The journalists never fails to say how perfect the animation, which we have seen little of so far so I'm not hyping its graphics... yet.

No, I did GCSE at school that was it. I did Physics at Uni and this year Im starting a company with an ex colleague of mine that designs and installs solar heating systems. Nothing to do with art. I posted them a while back to see if I could get anywhere with it but I think there is too much good competition. But thanks for saying so.

At first when I watched the gameplay trailer I was like holy sh!t I want this game! But then realized it's more of a respond to the on screen prompts by button presses to see the good story. If you fail you'll get a different scene.

Kind of like a dressed up dragon's lair type game. Everything in the game is queued up and based on your responses you get certain "movie scene" responses. Looks fantastic though...gameplay just isn't my thing.

The face is lifeless and the background isn't detailed at all. Truthfully, GTA 4 could give this a run for its money. Games like Gears, Uncharted, MGS4, and Mass Effect blow this out of the water. Streaming it is then, still something sounds iffy.

MGS4 had to shrink its levels to free up ram to maintain the asset detail level, causing frequent loading screens. While open world streaming games like GTA, Oblivion, Fallout 3 etc. take a visual quality hit so the game assets can be quickly streamed in during game play; creating the illision of a large environment.

This game is using MGS4 quality game assets, with an environment that appears large and free roaming, yet we are told has no loading screens.

How much control does the player actually have over the game? I mean can you run about or is it set on a cinematic rail with scene interactivity?

Guess we will have to wait and see, none of MGS4 pre launch material hinted at the frequency of the loading screens.

Considering it is an adventure game, it most likely isn't an open world. It probably won't be any more free roaming than Indigo was.

Umm lemmings are praising this game goos for them but look at all the pc owners are offended wow if not the lemmings are the pc owner i don't even now their nick here. they are offended becasue they spend 2,500 on a pc and the ps3 owners just spend 400 bocks on a console that can do impresive things too. thats mean thats you guys like to wasyte money in someting that still need a few years to completly destroy the consoles. The pc still have more power but like they are proven on more time not for much.
