He answered the question and gave a series that he felt was better, tc never specified genres so any series is accepted.
PM him the next time if you want it to be just the two of you, this is a forum for everyone to discuss.
ps:I've replied to you about two times, far from nagging.

anytime you reply theres nothing positive, i dont mind debates im open for one but it SEEMS you have an issue with anything i post and this is the third time....i did not say it was for me and him im just saying i asked him a question he didnt say" IMO' or "I prefer" he just said baldurs gate is better then zelda its not hard to grasp
Like I said three times in four years is far from nagging, and theres nothing negative about my post. I said his answer was acceptable because tc never specified genres. You're trying to make this bigger than it really is.
It's pretty easy to tell when someone is sharing an opinion, you don't need them to write "IMO" or "I prefer" in every sentence.
not to everybody ibjukrono, like i said before people here post their post like there facts. he didnt say it was his opinion he just said which one is better. wow im impressed you acknowledged ive been here for four years tho :)
on topic tho i have no problem with you im just saying recently its not like your posting for a debate just to point out something you dont agree with that i said.

Well, I'm sorry if it came out like I was against you/or anyone(god knows thats the last thing I want to do online), for the most part I ignore those kind of posts because even they know it's an opinion(they're trying to get someone to bite).
I guess we've been here for the same time then.

No and it's because that first game was impossible to figure out. "Hey good luck figuring out what to do or where to go or finding what you need." Bread_or_DecideOh Bread, you wouldn't last a minute in the NES gen. :P Back in the day, there was no such thing as a tutorial. Games these days basically baby step you through every little bit of the game! Zelda is my favorite video game series! Not a single title is even decent (mention CD-i games and feel my wrath  ), even Zelda II is marked as a timeless classic in my book. :)
Kinda hard to say it's the greatest of all time but it's certainly one of the better franchises of all time. It's definitely up there.

Metroid is way more confusing then Zelda IMO.

Seriously!!! (agreed) I got it from the Ambassador Program and I'm so confused because all the dang screens look alike. Zelda is 10x easier than Metroid. You definitely need a map for Metroid, while Zelda, you can get along fine. Why is this a good thing again? Face it, no particular game will ever get a "Yes" vote majority. This is awesome. The "no" side is winning! :D

It is up there and in my Opinion it is the greatest but not everyone has my opinion.
There isn't a bad Zelda game.
CD-i Zeldas don't count Nintendo had no involvement and were forced to allow Phillips to use the Zelda IP on 3 games for the CD-i when they backed out of their deal with Phillips.
Nope. I still hold to Baldur's Gate on the infinity engine being the best series ever done because of the ridiculous amount of content and how it all feels hand-crafted. Pretty much anyone who has played from Candlekeep until the end of Throne of Bhaal knows what I mean.

I grew up in the NES gen. There's hand holding and there's the other extreme of giving you clues or any sense of direction. I don't like either one. There is nothing pleasant about a game giving you zero direction. That is subject to interpretation. It's certainly one of the most well known series out there. As for "best ever", there's no answer for that. The Zelda series is one of my favorites. There are a few games in the series that I'm not fond of, such as Wind Waker and Link's Awakening, but the ones I do like provided some of my best gaming memories.
My friend is convinced Zelda Ocarania of Time is the best game ever. Despite NEVER having played it.

Why would he think that then? Because it's popular?

Yeah exactly. It's like the game everyone who's a "proper gamer" says is the best. It really annoys me, I have actually played it, I think it's good, but they are so many games I think are better.

Why is this a good thing again? Face it, no particular game will ever get a "Yes" vote majority. It is very impressive that it actually has 37% of the people voting for it. That alone tells us so much about how great Zelda is- no other series would have as many people voting for it as Zelda does.charizard1605Zelda cannot beat Half-life and Starcraft.
I can't think of a better series, logically. not too many other games have been around for 25 years, and continued to stay as strong as zelda in immersive adventure and great storytelling. and to all of you who say that each zelda game is the same, try PLAYING one. ya, the last boss is typically gannon, but is that even important? most of you people are fine blowing 60 bucks a year on each new iteration of COD or Battlefield or some OTHER first person shooter. it could be said that any of the other series mentioned could be summed up in a very simple manor like you people like to do to zelda, only your guys' favorite series havent sold over 850 million copies over 25 years. thats about 34 million games sold per year on average. pretty sure thats better than ALL of your guys' favorites, other than mario. garrett_duffman
Zelda did not sell over 850 million copies. Not even close.
PH is the worst Zelda game and that's an 80-90% game imo.
Yes.
Some keywords: Consistent, 25 years, high quality, revolutionized gaming.
