As much as Uncharted 3 is freaking amazing in graphics, PC beats it.
But only by 20% in general. 90% with mods.
I remember playing with those graphics the other day. I was really looking at those graphics in a playable game and wasn't looking at pre-rendered/bullshot/not-in-game screens. It was called The Witcher 2 and its f'ing awesome when you get play withthose visuals and not just look at bullshots of a game that has a blur-filter everytime a character moves.

I am going to ask you to not be so biased. Are you impressed with Uncharted 3? Think of all the complex physics and animation that are being implemented on the boat level. The entire level is moving, with Drake, objects, enemies, and water reacting to every tilt and movement of the boat. This game is more impressive than a lot of high end PC games.

Lol, u kno itz teh grafix dat metters. You can't be serious, right?
Like ActicEdge said, a PC game from '07 (Crysis 1) easily trumps every PS3 exclusive in graphics. Graphics will never stop getting better. Heck, PC is about a generation ahead of both 360/PS3 in graphics (& maybe the Wii U, too).

I do think that we are going to reach a diminishing returns point for graphics on consoles though tbh and I think we are starting to near that. Because PCs are upgradable and with mods and constantly evolving parts and the nature of PC games being able to scale graphics so well, it won't be hurt by this too much but on consoles I think it will beging to become tooo expensive for most games to do this. I was looking at some tech demos posted on neogaf after the Wii U demo was posted and yeah graphics still have a long way to go but I think it'll be way too much money to get to that level anytime soon.

Yeah I am, but I also played Crysis on high with hardware relatively the same as the PS3 (More RAM of course.) Complex physics and animations? Scripted. They are not dynamic. There was more scripted/non-playable sequences in that demo than gameplay. Player-caused is a lot more taxing than developer caused/scripted. When you can't interact with it, developers can make it look a lot better. With those physics, I really doubt they took weight, size, volume, ect into consideration because they don't need to.
And no, not really. It has more action, thats it.
Don't get me wrong, I f'ing love Uncharted after finally sitting down to play it and finish it. ND has a fantastic art team and I've been a fan since Crash 1. ND knows what they're doing. Those little touches that no other developer ever puts into a game is what makes ND fantastic.

Don't lump me together with that. Not all of us are clueless about graphics.
according to some PC gamers console gamers are mindless bots.Just look. Look at those pictures. Now, ask yourself this: do they look so real, that you're genuinely questioning your ability to tell the difference between illusion and reality? Or do they look like a computer game?
Uncharted 3 looks impressive. But if you think that's the pinnacle of graphics excellence, you can't have seen many alternatives. A high end PC game like Crysis or The Witcher 2 will wipe the floor with it, and Pixar movies look better than any computer game ever has.

When games get to that point its going to be scary as heck. :P
Oh sweet lord I thought you were just talking in general and then you had to go show some uncharted didn't you. Well if you think thats amazing then Graphics have ALREADY gotten much better than this. Its called a PC. have you been on Mars until E3??

Inconsistancy
That would make sense :P
Also I don't think U3 is all that impressive really. The wow factor has washed off Uncharted now and this one will be too similar to U2. You need a huge leap for people to really stand up and take notice. I mean they talk about this boat level and extreme water and all the physics but its not as interactive as they say. When the water bursts through after drake I bet it will look the same every time it happens. Its only things like chairs etc. that are worth mentioning and U2 already did it. The cars only move when a certain part happens eg. the water pours in. Its all too scripted for my liking. I expected more

Oh yes, it will be.
Once we've got ray tracing in real-time, heads will explode.
TC you should have known that no matter what Hermits will hate on Uncharted and try and say that games with joke production values (like stalker) repetative animations and textures (like Crysis) or just flat out horrible and generic gameplay (like metro 2033) are a "generation ahead". Lol. Uncharted 3 looks amazing no mods running on a $300 PS3. Period.

I think so
What is really funny is, disregarding the multitude of pc games that hold UC3's head in a toilet graphically, Gears 3 looks just as good if not better. I thought cows would have learned not to be this fanboyish a long time ago....guess not.

The ship is actually titlting back and forth as if it were at sea. All the objects(chandaliers, boxes, tables, ect.) are reacting to the tilting of the ship. Drake's weight placement and movement is not scripted, he is actually reacting to the weight distribution of the ship.

I'm not at all knowlegable (and will not pretend to be) in the game tech department. What is ray tracing? I think it has something the do with everything reacting to a dynamic light source but I'm not really sure if that's right.

Gears 2 doesn't even look as good as Uncharted 1.
It does look amazing but I don't feel like they have gone for realism... It seems a bit cartoony to me.

You can't prove it isn't scripted. Most of those objects are static. They are set to move according to which way the boat is tilting. Its not dynamic. Its scripted.
Why the negativity towrds this thread ? if he believes this is the best he has seen let him believe, acting all cool and saying yeah we have a PC so this doesn't even compare shows how arrogant you are.TheGuardian03
That's just misguided. He said its hard to imagine graphics getting better then U3. Graphics have been better then U3 since 2007. How is it arrogant to point out he is spouting false claims? And U3 looks great, most of us agree.
