Its Official! 512,000 Ps3s were sold on Day-one!

In only 11 hours it is being reported that 512,000 Ps3's have been added to the worldwide ps3 tally from Europe alone.

Worldwide sales now stand at 2.67million, still trailing to the xbox360 at 9.6million, and the Wii at 6.03million.

Considering the fact that the PS3 has been available for sale via preorder for weeks now in Europe, 512 thousand is not that impressive a figure. The PS3 did not sell out and many expected that it would be. This represents the vast majority of Sony fanboys and early adopters who just can't wait to get their console.

There is still half of Europe's PS3 launch stock remaining, and I don't expect it to go as quickly.

VGCharts is hardly official but if their estimates are correct then good job Sony. That would be a much higher number than I expected.the-very-best

I expected them to sell out. Afterall, Europe is supposed to be Sony's #1 territory.

It's not that great. 500,000 including the preorders isn't impressive for a console but it's not bad either. WEl according to Wikie in 2005 there were 728 milion of ppl in europe
