[QUOTE="Spartan070"][QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"][QUOTE="Spartan070"]That is pretty impressive, not Halo 2 one day sales impressive, but still impressive.:wink:deadpool51your not maing any sense. PS3 costs 750$. Halo 2= 60$. Do the math, its just as impressive if not more impressive. Dude, all time record one day sales for any entertainment media in history, music, movies, whatever. NOTHING is more impressive until something beats $125 million in 24 hours. didnt burning crusades destroy it? Halo 2 made more $$$.
Why does it say 360 only has 9.6 million sold......it hit over 10 mill in Nov....wtf-=XBoXDemon=-Because it didn't.

They use estimates. That's how they report sales 4 hours into the day. Using estimates means that their numbers can't be accurate. Some of you might believe that the guys over at vgcharts have the ability to travel in time to get accurate numbers before the day has even started... I don't.
Wait, isn't VGcharts the site that most cows call "teh biased"?
Whatever, 500,000 is pretty good. I wonder how long the momentum in Europe will last? Longer then here in the USA? Or just as short?
There is no momentum. The PS3 will sell, but don't be fooled... it's no PS2.Wait, isn't VGcharts the site that most cows call "teh biased"?

Actually, the last Harry Potter book beat it.Â
But if you take 500,000 and multiply that by the 750 figure the other guy gave, it is around 375million(granted, it probably also generated millions of dollars of loss as well).Â
Untill we get Official gamespot confirmation then no."So many Europe stores"? I thought it was only one... I never get updated on the news. :(
P.S:I hope to hell ps3 sold that many, so many europe stores was giving away free tvs with ps3 purchase. LOL man they was doing a hard core rush to sell that system with all the perks europeans got at ps3 launch, they got a hell of a lot more then us.... we got shotgun to the stomach for waiting in line, they got tv's!

Its launch. And that seems kinda bad for launch of an entire continent....KoolsenThink about it. 1. 4 months after all other consoles were launched 2. Months of bad press 3. Steep price 4. Lack of launch games (Some were delayed for Europe and Australia) 500K (That's still a made up number as of right now) isn't bad at all.
Wow cows are desperate. VG charts pulls a number out of their butt and they think it's official? Sorry to tell ya but even if that number is even semi close, 500k is horrible in a territory with over 700 million people. Here let me translate it for you..... Moo, moo, mooooooooo, mooo. Understand (moo)?IchiroisawsomeThere's 1 million shipped... So that's half sold. That was retarded.

so we shouldn't take VGcharts seriously when they say that xbox 360 out sold the ps3, its probably the other way around right?
or are you just gettin mad that the ps3 is doin good, 500k in one day and thats just in europe, wait till ps3 launch in its home town asia.
great they sold 510,000. It was also the first major console launch in history to not sell out day 1. Security guards outnumbered fans at the main French launch at the Eiffel Tower. They were expecting 3,000 people at that aprticular event and ended up with less than 100.RBlair21088lol maybe next time they should pull a M$ and only put 200 thousand up for sell. Then they can say," Look we sold out teh PS3 rulez!!"
I'd really like to know how they collect data from the european release in one day which includes more as 100 countries around the world 90% of which don't report sales data. If they explain me this, I believe this numbers are correct and not mere estimates.
Iceland, Ireleand, UK, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal - and this is only Europe, let's not forget Oceania and the rest of the Sony classified "Europe".
So yes, official my ass.

No we don't... But to put things in perspective... Benelux launch comparison: (Benelux is Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourgh) Xbox 360: around 8000 sold at launch Wii: around 7000 sold at launch PS3: around 44000 pre-orders, out of 50000 available consoles... animation_impBullsh*t.  The papers said so to create a hype. But I saw PS3's everywhere and still do. And this is day 2B

Go compare Vgcharts to NPD or Media Create and you'd know why.

Failure.
I live in the Netherlands and it even made the freakin' news that only 10% of the people that pre ordered showed up to actually buy it.Â
Ill wait for NPD numbers , thanks .Prid3rlol, you're going to get European sales from a firm that tracks North American sales?
a)link doesnt work for me b)how many were left on shelvesdarrowby88
who cares how many were left on shelves? If they shipped 10000000000000 units and only 10000000 were sold, would you say ''buh buh but PS3 r sitting on shelves?''
The big question isn't how much it sold on day one, its whether it "sold out" on day one which is the question. Because if it didn't which I don't think it did, that would be ownage in itself. A major console launch that didn't sell out, both the Wii and X360 sold out of preorders everywhere and consoles on day one.
In Europe PS3 STRUGGLED to sell preorders. 512,000 across the WHOLE of Europe is not a big number and your kidding your self if you think it is.
I wanna know why Americans are so concerned about Europe anyway, its desperate, you act like there is some sort of PS unity going on, like you meet up in a big stadium every year shaking hands while saying "PS for life" like its dam near a religion for you.
As said, all this 512.000 units sold is "lari-fari". Maybe estimates, but you can hardly estimate something that spans over dozens of countries, let's not forget it wasn't only released in Europe, but the rest of the world. It's like the born/death ratio estimation for the whole word, you get some numbers, but they are way off. It's laughable at best.
Too bad the Xbox 360 has been at 10.4 since January. VG Charts, seriously why are people still using that and nexgen wars. They're both terrible.Donkey_PuncherShipped not sold
In only 11 hours it is being reported that 512,000 Ps3's have been added to the worldwide ps3 tally from Europe alone.
Worldwide sales now stand at 2.67million, still trailing to the xbox360 at 9.6million, and the Wii at 6.03million.

Uummm.. NO, sorry you lose.
The PS3 counts was already at 2.49 million before it launched in Europe. Anyways, you post is far, far from being official. Let's wait for the NPD numbers before people start to believe your nonsense.
Also, that website only tracks U.S. sales, so you are owning yourself.
This thread is pretty funny though. The guy links a website that only shows U.S. sales and saying the PS3 sold 512,000 PS3 in Europe.
What's even funnier is people actually believe this person.
I don't even think they sold over 100,000 PS3 in Europe. The official launch event expected 3000 people to come and pick up their PS3's and only 300 showed up. Everywhere in London, Paris, England, Netherlands, Australia New Zealand, etc all showed poor turnouts at the midnight launch and even in the morning the sales weren't great. Retailers stated they sold 10-15 PS3, but still have 100 more stacked in the back. So let's wait for the REAL figures to come out from NPD before cheering the false 512,000 figure.
