Another example is Goldeneye , I'm sorry that game was far from perfect or the most fun FPS of all time or whatever, even on release bar about 3 maps most of them were boring as hell.

The multiplayer was amusing for a small while , but compared with other multiplayer classics of the time, it was nothing.

Ofcourse its Personal Preferance, but my hate for Gamerankings tides in with the entire flawed review system ... %95+ should never ever be given , its like syaing "You will enjoy every second of this nearly flawless" which I cant say its completely true even for Ocarina of Time.

How the hell can you say with any certainty that OoT is better than Metroid prime (over 100 reviews and still so close) when OoT only had 29 reviews? To be truthful, the GR list is just a compilations of reviews which makes it very broken for discussing "best ever" because there isnt even so much as a standard review number. the system isnt even operationalized.

secondly, i just have a gripe with the term "best ever" in general because there's no such thing as "ever" in a continually evolving media, especially one where old models get outdated, replaced and improved such as gaming.

I only read PC bashing threads in SW for the most part anyway. Its more interesting than "teh Ps3 suxorz, 360 rulezzz!" or vice versa. The only other threads I bother reading every now and then are the Wii bashing threads, because apparently since it isn't trying to do HD its an epic failure.

Number 2-3 IMO.

No, that'swrong. Amazing game.If you talking about PC games ok, they not on my radar. But for consoles Goldeneye was the greatest multiplayer shooter for years IMO.

That's exactly why it is so good. Not only was it THE game to get when it came out it's still holds it own against any other Adventure game out there in every way. OoT is not my fav game but it's def the best game. Mario Galaxy is also gaming purity.

I'd like to agree, but this game is definitely a worthy competitor. I may just have to stop dwelling on the memories of OoT and accept this as my new favorite game.

Yeah hopefully. It would be refreshing to see a Wii platformer to grab the second spot. Also to see Shiggy claim both the 1# and 2# spot.

It can be dethroned, infact, a few games have come really freakin close, it's just none have passed the bar.

It's now in alphabetical order, apparently. Either way, they're equal third.
What's also wierd is that Half-Life 2 takes up almost 1/3rd of the list.

He can say that because Metroid Prime even though it was and still is a masterpiece didn't do as much to the industry as OoT did. Another fact is because it managed to nail every single thing a game should do and still hold upp today unlike other old ****cs such as Perfect Dark and Halo CE which have aged a LOT worse.

Look at The Good The Bad The Ugly ( a movie ) it's not the western with the biggest kill count, special effects or whatnot but it's still regarded as one of the best movies of all time and still ranked high on the list on IMDB even though the movie buiz is evolving.

Another flawed thing however with GR is that most of the Nes-Snes-N64-PS1 came out when internet review sites wasn't around which makes it impossible for Super Metroid or Super Mario Bros 3 to get ranked fairly. The list would contain a lot more Snes titles if it was completely fair. FFIII-FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid and A Link To The Past etc.

Ocarina Of Time doesn't only go by nostaliga? Just like God though it isn't as good as God used to be back in the day. Sure God is rusty by todays standards but God can still hold his own against most of the new Gods.
