So let me get this straight the PS3 finally surpassed the 360 after all this time. The 360 doesn't sell at all in Japan and not very well in Europe except the U.K. Also didn't the next gen start two months ago? So why are the Cows so happy now? :?

1. The PS3 has offically outsold the 360

2. It did it eventhough it came out 1 year later

3. It did it while costing 100$ or more the entire time

It also took 6 years and is irrelavent right now. Im not sure if sony passing MS in console sales are gonna recoup the billions they lost but i guess any type of victory will have to suffice.

Another 'jump the gun' thread confirmed, i really hate it when people put the word 'official' in a thread title when it's not official:(

*facepalm* all figures are units shipped ya dingle berry. How the fork would Sony/ms/Nintendo or anyone know how many are sold to consumers at any point I'm time?

Stores record all the figures then send them back to their HQ's where they get collected by companies on behalf of Sony/MS/Nintendo etc.

What was the point in that? it's obviously NOt official also 'MS uses shipped numbers as well so it's fair play as far as i am concerned, we knew this point was coming anyway, i always predicted myself the Ps3 would eventually pass the 360. i also predicted it would be a chuckle when it happened, looks like i was right on both counts, although i did expect the Ps3 to pass the 360 Before now but hey, can't be right about everything:)' 'It was SONY who officially announced the Ps3 had sold 70 million in November, they must have channel stuffed big time to ship 7 million consoles in a month, Fair play to them , MS has been channel stuffing 360's all generation, i find it ironic that SONY beat MS at there own Game *hats off to SONY* ' My earlier contributions to this thread, even i believed the article to begin with, please tell me how i am crying for pointing out the FACT that this is ibviously NOT OFFICIAL dude, READ other peoples comments before jumping in accusing them of crying or somehow being butthurt eh.

i know that muppet, thats not why i am sying it's not official,did you miss the part where they said they didn'y know where the numbers had come from and that they might actually be part of IDC's overall FORCAST, god you guys are dumb, what does the word FORCAST mean dude? it means 'Future Prediction' Until we know where the figures ACTUALLY came from it's not official at all.
