These are numbers from a tracking firm , there pretty much as accurate as it gets and hte last time they reported 70 million sold was in November, which means they were probably counting sales up till about September or October. Meaning they sold 7 miilion worldwide over the holiday season which sounds about right.
Xbox fanboys are going to damage control this and try to find "loopholes" so they can feel better about their system. I just don't understand why they care so much, who cares who sold more? It doesn't effect anyone's enjoyment of their system.
I know but since this is SW im going to have to rub it in, the fact is sales at this point dont really matter for either system they really only matter for the first few years as the system that sells more will get 3rd party exclusives and all the support. Since the PS3 and 360 were so close the whole time that really wasnt an issue this generation but in the days of the PS2, GC and Xbox sales really did mean something because that was the main reason the PS2 was gettig all the great games. It was diffrent this gen becase eventhough the Wii sold so much it still had no 3rd party support due to its casual fanbase.
